Sometimes I get stuck for baby led weaning breakfast ideas for the little guy as I feel I end up repeating the same stuff over and over again, mainly peanut butter on toast and fruit, which although he loves I think might be getting a bit boring. So I have started looking for other fun baby led weaning breakfast recipes that I think he will like to serve alongside his fruit. I found a banana muffin recipe that was super simple so I decided to adapt it to make a banana, honey and chocolate chip muffin recipe that was suitable for baby led weaning.
These turned out lovely and as I made 12 it means me and Jon have been enjoying a few whilst we work in the evenings too! They have been a big hit with all the family. They aren’t super healthy but they are still pretty good as most of the sweetness comes from the banana rather than a heap of sugar! But I thought Elian (and Jon) would really like the little chocolate chips too! Elian hadn’t had chocolate chips before (or banana muffins for that matter) and he absolutely loved them. The muffins are really soft and moist so are easy for Elian to eat. Continue reading →
When I received my Muscle Food hamper I was intrigued to find 2 packs of Chicken Meatballs. We have never eaten chicken meatballs before but I loved the idea of them as we actually aren’t big beef or pork eaters. I made Healthy Sweet and Sour Chicken Meatballs with the first packet of them (also slimming world friendly as its low syn!) and they were really delicious, very tender and moist. I would go as far to say I actually rather chicken meatballs to pork or beef ones! But I wanted to make something a bit different with the second pack of meatballs so decided to try a slimming world moroccan tagine.
This is the recipe and it came out awesomely!! On slimming world the Muscle Food chicken meatballs are 1/2 syn each so 3 or 4 meatballs makes the dish 1.5/2 syns. What is also great is that this recipe is also baby led weaning friendly. I cut the meatball into quarters and mixed the couscous into the veg so it got sticky and Elian really enjoyed it as you can see for the pictures below! Continue reading →
You might have seen my pictures of this popping up on our social media over the last few days (I apologies if they have made you hungry or crave something sweet!!) These little individual salted caramel and white chocolate cheesecakes were flipping delicious! I kid you not they are one of the best cheesecakes I have made, and I’ve made a few!! I used the Caramel Cookie Bites from Maryland Cookies to make the base for extra chocolaty/caramel-y yumminess! I could happily have eaten all of them to my self, but figured I probably shouldn’t so we shared them with my parents who loved them, and now expect me to make some more!! So you can all taste the yummiest too I thought I would share this cheesecake recipe with you all. Continue reading →
It’s few and far between but occasionally mums get a night off. And what do we do with that night off? Hit the town, dance all night, drink every cocktail on the menu and take a taxi home at 6am…nope!! We chill and make the most of a quite house to actually relax for a little while. Now I might not be speaking for all mums but I’m pretty sure I’m speaking for quite a large proportion of mums when I say that. Our lives can be so hectic and busy with our little ones that when we do have a few hours to ourselves (or with our significant others) just switching off is all we really want to do
So if you have a mums night off on the cards and want some fool proof essentials to make your night off perfect here are my top 5 tips. Continue reading →

Can you believe Elian is 7 months old already, time seriously flies when you become a parent! So for the last month we have been testing the waters of baby-led weaning, no doubt you’ll have seen his messy face on our Instagram or Facebook Page, or you might have caught little dude tasting some of his first foods over on our YouTube channel! I’m not going to explain baby-led weaning as the link above will do it far better, but it pretty much means you don’t give babies pureed food, instead you give them soft finger foods to start with and progress upwards onto normal foods as they begin to develop chewing, teeth and hand/eye coordination.
So far he has tried out a whole host of foods from banana and raspberries, to broccoli, melon, pasta and scrambled eggs, and I can hand on heart say he has happily eaten and enjoyed everything. The only issue I now have is trying to come up with new things for him to try so he doesn’t get bored of eating the same thing everyday! He currently only has breakfast and tea (just small portions as he is still breastfeeding) but I have now started to look for actual recipes for him, rather than just giving him fruit and cooked veg. If your looking for baby lead weaning breakfast ideas, or a healthy snack my Banana and Peanut Butter breakfast muffin recipe could be a perfect choice. Continue reading →
As it’s a new year and undoubtedly at least 50% of the population has made the resolution to try and lose weight this year (me included!) I thought I would make the first recipe post of 2017 a slimming world recipe. So here is my Slimming World minced beef hash recipe. This is a hearty, simple and filling recipe that I made for me and Jon just before Christmas, using the extra lean mince beef that we had in our Musclefoods hamper. It’s syn free on the current Slimming World plan and you can pack in lots of free or super free veggies. It’s also a great recipe to make at the end of the shopping week to help you use up any stray veg in your fridge as you can add pretty much any vegetables you have lying around (within reason obviously, not too sure an artichoke or avocado would work!) It’s a firm favourite with all the family in the Two Hearts household and I’ve no doubt Elian will be trying it soon too.
This last month seems to have flown by, Christmas is approaching super fast and it’s time for another Degustabox review already! It seriously doesn’t seem to have been that long since the Christmas Degustabox was delivered, which was a big hit in our house as it had lots of treats in it. You can see my unboxing video above and check out our review of all the items below, we’ve eaten the majority of it already! hehe!
Yay so its the final day of my 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways, which means we are half way through December and xmas is just a few days away! Eek! And I think I saved the most fun giveaway till last, so who wants to win an entire hamper of fresh lean meat?? We received this MuscleFood box a few weeks back to review and work on some recipes with, my freezer is still packed, and all the meat we have tried so far has been so tasty with almost no fat coming off it. So far we have eaten the burgers, some bacon, chicken portions, beef mince and chicken meatballs and all have been delicious!
