Just before Christmas Opie received a little parcel from the Cotswold RAW dog food company which contained 4 different RAW dog food products. The trial pack contained 2 packs of their active dog mince (Turkey and Lamb) and 2 packs of their active dog sausages (Beef and Lamb). The active food is meat for dogs who have an active lifestyle or are working dogs, Opie is very energetic and active so it was perfect for him. The Active range is 80% raw meat and 20% quality vegetables. The meat arrives frozen so you just pop it into your freezer and then defrost it as and when you need it, they last 72 hours once defrosted. Each pack was enough for 2-3 meals for Opie as we also added a small cup of dry food to his meals but how long they last will depend on the size of your dog and how much they eat daily. Heres Opie’s little dog food review Continue reading →
If you follow our instagram account you will know I am all about teething jewellery. Even though Elian isn’t officially teething yet (no sign of teeth buds) he loves nothing more than to chew on stuff, pretty much anything he can get in his mouth to be honest, and this has been going on for nearly 2 months. I’m pretty sure he will start teething soon but for now he is enjoying gum chewing everything and anything, especially my new Black and Beech Theo Necklace.
I have a number of different teething necklaces and bracelets now as I have been lucky enough to be gifted some and won one in a fellow bloggers competition. They have become an essential day to day item that I don’t leave the house without, even if I’m not carrying the little man he will often play with one in his pram to keep him entertained when we are out and about. Even if he isn’t actually chewing my necklace he plays and fiddles with the beads, especially when we are breastfeeding. So having something specifically designed for his grabby hands instead of pulling on my non baby jewellery or my hair when feeding is great. Continue reading →
This last month seems to have flown by, Christmas is approaching super fast and it’s time for another Degustabox review! Honestly the day I get the text from DPD telling me what time my Degustabox will be being delivered is my favourite day of the month, and I hate it if I am out and have to hope my neighbours are in to take the box or I have to wait an extra day or 2 to have it redelivered! This month its the Christmas box so I had all my fingers crossed for some tasty treats as last years Christmas box was awesome.

I am a firm believer that as long as babies are fed and healthy it really shouldn’t matter how they are being fed, be it breastfeeding, bottled breast milk or bottled formula, a healthy fed baby is really the most important thing. We combination feed so do a little of all the above, and it works for us (read all about it here)
The Chicco NaturalFeeling Bottle is different to others as they have an off centre nipple teat, which is meant to mimic real breasts more accurately than any other bottles currently on the market. The nipple is in the top 3rd of the teat section rather than the bottom like other off centre bottles, so it has a large area underneath the nipple to encourage a natural latch position. Can’t believe it’s been a month since we had our last Sassy Bloom box, just shows how fast time really does fly. And if I’m honest this is my favourite Sassy Bloom box yet! This is the 3 month old Sassy Bloom box and has lots of toys in it that Elian can now play with. He is far more alert now and enjoys grabbing onto things and either putting them in his mouth or shaking them so we will be getting lots of use out of the items in this months box. As always if you fancy signing up yourself just hop over on this link and you can get £10 off your first box! Continue reading →
We had always planned to use a sling or wrap when Elian arrived as we love the idea of baby wearing. It always looked as if the baby was comfortable, safe and happy and mum and dad are able to carry on with their day to day with free hands. Wraps look a bit complicated to start with but once you have put it on a few times they are pretty simple to do, and your baby can sit comfortably and snug against your chest and be completely supported and safe.
We have been testing out the KangaWrap since Elian arrived and are loving it. Elian is a super clingy baby, he loves his cwtches and hates being put down (even when asleep!) which has been hard to adjust to in the first few weeks, trying to do normal everyday things and running the business is difficult when one handed and carrying a newborn, but the sling has made it possible. Well Elian wasn’t too impressed with his first few baths, there was quite a bit of crying and tears, but now he’s nearly 8 weeks old and is loving the time in the warm water, now there is splashing instead of tears! And personally I love this time, especially the towel drying and cwtches afterwards (thats the welsh term for big cuddles by the way! Welsh cwtches are the best!) Continue reading →
So our July Degustabox arrived a few days ago and I thought I would do something a little different and film an unboxing video instead of my usual post. I swear half the fun in getting a subscription box is opening it and finding the surprises instead, of course the other half of the fun with a Degustabox is eating everything in it! hehe! So check out the video to see what we received this month and see below for our review of the items we have now tested out! Continue reading →
Eek! So I totally made (and actually posted) my first YouTube video! I’ve wanted to start doing YouTube videos for so long but I hate the sound of my own voice on video as it doesn’t sound like me in my head (do you get that?) Anyway I had a few boxes delivered recently and decided an unboxing video would be a great place to start, nice and simple!
I’ve been umming and ahhing over whether to subscribe to Sassy Bloom since before Elian was born but decided to bite the bullet and get a years subscription so this is the unboxing of the first box! Please be gentle with me while I try and work out if videos are for me and aim to get a bit better at making them! hehe! Continue reading →
Ok so make-up isn’t usually a subject I cover a lot of on here, but what most of you probably don’t know about me is I love lipstick! It has to be the easiest piece of make-up there is, just whack it on and you have an instantly look and you can go! I wear very little other makeup on a day to day basis, but will often put on just a quick swipe of mascara and a nice bold lipstick! I don’t usually do pinks or nude as they can look too pale on my already pale skin, but I love a good red!
When I noticed that my local Lidl had some stock of their Cien makeup range I thought I would check it out and grab a few of their lip products. At just £1.99 each or 2 for £3 they are a bargain, but it also means I didn’t have the highest hopes for them being that high a quality, but worth a go. Our store only 1 lipstick I liked, but they had 3 lip pencils which liked interesting so I bought them all! I actually love lip pencils as often find you can get a much neater and nicer line with them. So here is a little Lidl Cien Lipstick review for your all, just incase your local store happens to stock them at some point too. Continue reading →
