Cotswold RAW Dog Food Review – Opie Reviews

by

Cotswold RAW dog food review

Just before Christmas Opie received a little parcel from the Cotswold RAW dog food company which contained 4 different RAW dog food products. The trial pack contained 2 packs of their active dog mince (Turkey and Lamb) and 2 packs of their active dog sausages (Beef and Lamb). The active food is meat for dogs who have an active lifestyle or are working dogs, Opie is very energetic and active so it was perfect for him. The Active range is 80% raw meat and 20% quality vegetables. The meat arrives frozen so you just pop it into your freezer and then defrost it as and when you need it, they last 72 hours once defrosted. Each pack was enough for 2-3 meals for Opie as we also added a small cup of dry food to his meals but how long they last will depend on the size of your dog and how much they eat daily. Heres Opie’s little dog food review Continue reading

Bottle Feeding – Chicco NaturalFeeling Bottle Review

by

Chicco NaturalFeeling Bottle ReviewI am a firm believer that as long as babies are fed and healthy it really shouldn’t matter how they are being fed, be it breastfeeding, bottled breast milk or bottled formula, a healthy fed baby is really the most important thing. We combination feed so do a little of all the above, and it works for us (read all about it here)

The Chicco NaturalFeeling Bottle is different to others as they have an off centre nipple teat, which is meant to mimic real breasts more accurately than any other bottles currently on the market. The nipple is in the top 3rd of the teat section rather than the bottom like other off centre bottles, so it has a large area underneath the nipple to encourage a natural latch position.  Continue reading

Baby Wearing – Tried and Tested KangaWrap Review

by

Baby Wearing - KangaWrap ReviewWe had always planned to use a sling or wrap when Elian arrived as we love the idea of baby wearing. It always looked as if the baby was comfortable, safe and happy and mum and dad are able to carry on with their day to day with free hands. Wraps look a bit complicated to start with but once you have put it on a few times they are pretty simple to do, and your baby can sit comfortably and snug against your chest and be completely supported and safe.

We have been testing out the KangaWrap since Elian arrived and are loving it. Elian is a super clingy baby, he loves his cwtches and hates being put down (even when asleep!) which has been hard to adjust to in the first few weeks, trying to do normal everyday things and running the business is difficult when one handed and carrying a newborn, but the sling has made it possible. Lidl Cien Lipstick Review

by

Cien Lipstick ReviewOk so make-up isn’t usually a subject I cover a lot of on here, but what most of you probably don’t know about me is I love lipstick! It has to be the easiest piece of make-up there is, just whack it on and you have an instantly look and you can go! I wear very little other makeup on a day to day basis, but will often put on just a quick swipe of mascara and a nice bold lipstick! I don’t usually do pinks or nude as they can look too pale on my already pale skin, but I love a good red!

When I noticed that my local Lidl had some stock of their Cien makeup range I thought I would check it out and grab a few of their lip products. At just £1.99 each or 2 for £3 they are a bargain, but it also means I didn’t have the highest hopes for them being that high a quality, but worth a go. Our store only 1 lipstick I liked, but they had 3 lip pencils which liked interesting so I bought them all! I actually love lip pencils as often find you can get a much neater and nicer line with them. So here is a little Lidl Cien Lipstick review for your all, just incase your local store happens to stock them at some point too. Continue reading

April Degustabox Review

by

April Degustabox Review If you follow our Instagram or twitter you will have seen that the May box has already arrived, and I’ve made dinner with one of the ingredients already. I am a little behind in posting the April Degustabox review as I was waiting to make something with one of the items so I could add a little recipe to this post, but sadly I just haven’t found the time to be creative with this box and most of it has just been eaten, which isn’t a bad thing, hehe! So instead I will just jump straight into this post and tell you what we thought of the items we received in the April Degustabox. Plus you’ll find a discount code at the end of the post if you would like to try Degustabox yourself. Continue reading

Our Day at Edinburgh Zoo

by

Edinburgh Zoo We spent a lovely (if a little wet) week up in Scotland recently visiting family and having a bit of a chill with my sister and her boyfriend (Briony and Andrew). Me, Jon and Briony have seen most of the tourist sights over the years of us visiting there so decided to ask Andrew what he fancied seeing, he chose Edinburgh Zoo, which weirdly it turns out none of us had actually visited before. There was a reason Andrew chose the zoo though, a secret none of us knew about util this point…he is obsessed with Koala Bears, and Edinburgh Zoo is the only place in the UK which houses them! Mercure Cardiff Holland House Spring Menu Tasting and Hotel Review

by

Mercure Cardiff Holland HouseLast week Jon and I were lucky enough to be invited to the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel and Spa Spring menu tasting evening for their newly rebranded Urban Bar and Kitchen, along with a few fellow bloggers and local journalists, plus they even put us up for the night in a lovely room so we could get the full experience of the hotel. We had an absolutely lovely evening chatting with some fellow foodies and some of the staff from the hotel spa then a really nice relaxing night and some yummy breakfast, it was just what I needed at this point in my pregnancy.  Continue reading

Degustabox February Review – Plus a Carrot Juice Bread Recipe

by

Degustabox February - carrot juice bread recipe

Yay it’s that time of the month again, Degustabox delivery! Yum!! It’s probably my favourite bit of mail to receive (sorry penpals!) so I always get excited when I get the text telling me my box will be delivered the next morning. There is nothing more fun than opening a box of random edibles, you just never know what you are going to get, but I can always guarantee that there will be a few things me and Jon will both love and a few we won’t be so keen on, but thats the fun bit!

If the whole Degustabox concept is new to you check out one of my other reviews or take a peek at their website – plus if you fancy testing it out yourself then my reader discount code can get you an awesome £6 off!! Use code ‘BLDEG15′.

So here is what was in the February Degustabox and what we thought of it, plus at the end you’ll find a my carrot juice bread recipe (for the bread maker!) using the James White British Carrot Juice I received in the box. It’s something a little different and inventive, but it turned out yummy! Continue reading

The Jam Jar Review – Bridge of Allan

by

The Jam Jar RreviewIf you’ve been following our twitter or Instagram feed you will know we have been on a little break to Scotland over the past week, and you will have seen some of the places we have visited and more importantly what we have been eating! Hehe! Me and Jon try to visit at least once a year as my aunt lives there in a little place called Auchterarder, which is right next to Gleneagles. This time we visited with my sister and her boyfriend and stayed in The Eagles Rest, which is a lodge park just on the outskirts of the village – I’ll review that at a later date, but today I wanted to do a quick review and sing the praises of one of our favourite places to eat when we visit the area which is The Jar Jar! Tried and Tested March – Dreamland Heat Pod, Key Smart and Instax Mini Sticky Shoot Frames

by

Dreamland heat podWe are quite often approached by companies to review their products and often get sent such a random selection of items, some which are great and others that are not so much. But I am a firm believe in honest reviews and always make this known to companies if they want us to review their product. I love reading reviews on items before I purchase them personally just so I can get a ‘Joe Public’ opinion on something, not just info from a well crafted marketing or press release. So this month I thought I would roll a few of the items we have been asked to review into one review post, and if this goes down well I may do something similar every month as sometimes its hard to write a whole post around something relatively small. This month we have been reviewing a Dreamland Heat Pod, Key Smart and Instax Mini Sticky Shoot Frames. Continue reading
