When I received my Muscle Food hamper I was intrigued to find 2 packs of Chicken Meatballs. We have never eaten chicken meatballs before but I loved the idea of them as we actually aren’t big beef or pork eaters. I made Healthy Sweet and Sour Chicken Meatballs with the first packet of them (also slimming world friendly as its low syn!) and they were really delicious, very tender and moist. I would go as far to say I actually rather chicken meatballs to pork or beef ones! But I wanted to make something a bit different with the second pack of meatballs so decided to try a slimming world moroccan tagine.
This is the recipe and it came out awesomely!! On slimming world the Muscle Food chicken meatballs are 1/2 syn each so 3 or 4 meatballs makes the dish 1.5/2 syns. What is also great is that this recipe is also baby led weaning friendly. I cut the meatball into quarters and mixed the couscous into the veg so it got sticky and Elian really enjoyed it as you can see for the pictures below! Continue reading →
You might have seen my pictures of this popping up on our social media over the last few days (I apologies if they have made you hungry or crave something sweet!!) These little individual salted caramel and white chocolate cheesecakes were flipping delicious! I kid you not they are one of the best cheesecakes I have made, and I’ve made a few!! I used the Caramel Cookie Bites from Maryland Cookies to make the base for extra chocolaty/caramel-y yumminess! I could happily have eaten all of them to my self, but figured I probably shouldn’t so we shared them with my parents who loved them, and now expect me to make some more!! So you can all taste the yummiest too I thought I would share this cheesecake recipe with you all. Continue reading →

Last week I received a Musclefoods 100 Piece Ultimate Slimming Lean Meat Hamper and it has literally filed up 2 drawers of my freezer! There is so much meat it will keep me an Jon going for quite a while. I shan’t name everything that came in the box as there was lots (if you’d like to see what the 100 piece bit contains you can check out the link above) but it did contain a ridiculous amount of huge chicken breast portions, 2 packs of chicken meatballs, chicken and sweet chilli burgers (which Jon has already cooked and really enjoyed!), 1 massive packs of mince, a number of steaks and lots more.
Once I saw the chicken meatballs I knew they were one of the first things I wanted to test out as we love meatballs, but have never had lean chicken ones before, and I knew I wanted to do something different with them instead of the usual tomato sauce. So I thought we would try a healthy sweet and sour sauce for them. This recipe is based on a Slimming World Sweet and Sour Sauce Recipe with a few tweaks. Continue reading →

Today I am review what we received in this months box and if you make it to the bottom of the post you’ll see a nice Degustabox discount code for you all, so you can try it for yourself!

Today I have a lovely guest blog post from Zara Hampshire on healthy Chinese takeaway dishes, especially for all you expectant mums out there. I know exactly what it’s like to just feel completely knackered at the end of the day after going to work, or even just a day of running errands, the last thing you want to do is cook, so I often reached for the takeaway menu too. But enough about me, over to Zara who is going to let you know which Chinese takeaway dishes are the healthiest to have when your pregnant.
Being pregnant is tough stuff! Between queasy mornings, stressful days at work, and the unrelenting cruelty of stairs (oh my god—STAIRS!), it’s hard to think about doing anything else—that is until you get home and realise there’s still housework to do, a dog to walk, an ever growing shopping list on the fridge, and mouths to feed. Normally, after a long day you’d just get a Chinese takeaway and relax with the family, but now you’re pregnant. “No!” they say, “You must slave away in the kitchen if you want the best for your baby!” But it just isn’t true. There are plenty of delicious, nutrient rich Chinese dishes that can be picked up or delivered right to your door. Here are some of the best for you and your precious cargo. Continue reading →
So our July Degustabox arrived a few days ago and I thought I would do something a little different and film an unboxing video instead of my usual post. I swear half the fun in getting a subscription box is opening it and finding the surprises instead, of course the other half of the fun with a Degustabox is eating everything in it! hehe! So check out the video to see what we received this month and see below for our review of the items we have now tested out! Continue reading →
Today I am putting my blog in the very capable hands of Kacie from The Rare Welshbit. Kacie is all about fabulous food, places to eat and tasty recipes. I feel pretty bad saying I have only been lucky enough to eat in one of these awesome places so far, but I will be making the effort to try out some of the others when I can. So if your looking for a great restaurant in Cardiff why not try out one of these great choices. Continue reading →
It’s Degustabox time again!! yay!!!! Is that just a bit sad?
Anyway here is our review of the May Degustabox and at the bottom you will find a really simple Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe which is perfect for summer time BBQ’s and when you want a tasty meal with minimal effort (OK it takes 8 hours, but you only have to put it in at the start and shred it at the end! Simple!!) Continue reading →
