Christmas is coming!!!! Now I am one of those sickeningly annoying people who has actually pretty much finished my xmas shopping already! (Yay!!) I simply find if I start shopping early, or at least planning my christmas shopping early, I get to spread the cost and its a whole lot less stressful in the lead up to Christmas. I like that I get to really enjoy all the festiveness with my family without having to stress about shopping for gifts.
So with that in mind I am bringing you a few gift guides over the next few weeks to help make your Christmas shopping a bit less stressful. First up I was thinking about meaningful gifts or gifts that show you put a little more effort into it that simply picking it up in the supermarket.
Because I was brought up with an unusual name getting fun items that were personalised was super hard when I was growing up (before etsy and ebay existed!!) so my parents always tried to get handmade, personalised items at places like craft fairs and I treasured these items more than toys most christmases. I actually still have a personalised wooden bookmark with a disney Dalmatian on that I must have had for over 20 years and I still use it! So I like the idea of getting people personalised or customised items at christmas time, and as these items are usually handmade I like to get ahead of the game and order them early to make sure they arrive before christmas. Last Year as it was Elian’s first Christmas the whole family had personalised mugs with a picture of him on and they all loved them, plus its something that gets used all the time.
Here are a few personalised gift ideas for all the family to get you started. My big tip though is don’t buy something personalised just for the sakes of it, buy them something they will actually use or need. If they have a hobby look for items for that, if your mum actually wears jewellery them get a special piece for her, they will love the effort you have gone to to buy them something unique and special for them.
