However, it will be here before you know it, and so it is important to get your wardrobe ready to avoid a last minute panic shop. Feather clothes – Let’s begin with one of the most stunning and elegant trends that is set to hit the retail market during the summer, and this is feathered clothes. If you want to look like you have come straight from a high fashion shoot in Milan, this is definitely the trend for you.
Plastic fantastic – This trend is perfect if you live somewhere where there is going to be a lot of rain during the summer. You can remain stylish while keeping the wet at pay. Plastic in varying shades is definitely going to be a hit over the next six months.
Sequins – If you thought sequins had seen their day, think again. They are going to make a bigger impression than ever before in summer 2018. From Chanel and Dior to Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford, all of the biggest names in fashion have embraced this glam and sparkly trend.
Checks – For the past few years, checks have been in trend during the winter months, but now they are going to make a massive statement throughout the summer. This is something we have seen on the runway thanks to Fendi, Alexander McQueen, and Mary Katrantzou.
1980’s – This summer, we are taking it back to the 1980’s. Expect to see a lot of big-shouldered printed dresses, pristine white slouchy boots, high-waisted jeans, and puff sleeved jackets.
Crayola – Remember the crayons you like to play with when you were little, well it seems that designers have been using them for their inspiration this year, as we are likely to see a lot of bright yellow, emerald green, cobalt, tomato red, and bright shades of violet. If you are going to buy a sundress this year, make sure you choose something in a striking shade from the Crayola palette.
Suit shorts – If you thought that shorts were boring, think again. Suit style shorts are going to be all of the range in 2018. To get this look right, look for shorts that finish at the knee.
Fringing – Last but not least, we have fringing, which has made a bit of a surprise comeback this year. The statement piece that comes to mind is the pair of fringing boots by Saint Laurent, which were worn by Rihanna. This is the perfect trend for festival-goers.
