To help give you some inspiration, below we have put together a guide on simple ways to update your living room.
Hang artwork or pictures on the wall
A go-to method for a lot of people when making changes to their living room is to add artwork or some picture to the wall. Artwork or pictures are great as they add an extra layer to the room due to the additional colors they add as well as filling up the gaps between your walls. If you enjoy photography or have any special memories (like a wedding that you planned) that you want to cherish, having them printed is a great way to see them daily as well as show guests when they visit. You could change the photos or artwork on the wall every 4 months, this way you are constantly changing the feel of the room.
Consider adding a rug to the room
Rugs are another consideration when looking to update your living room. If you have the right flooring, rugs can do a lot to change the feel of a room. They add a particular style to the room, warmth or coldness – depending on what you are going for – and color. They come in all shapes and sizes and can be moved around throughout the year when you want to make changes. The cost of a rug varies depending on the quality you want to go for, therefore you can match it to a lower or higher budget easily.
Add plants to your room
Another way to add an additional dynamic to your room, as well as additional colors, is to add plants to your living room. Plants can be moved around easily and come in a whole variety of styles – we recommend popping down to your local garden center for some inspiration. What we like to do is move them around our home throughout the year, this way other rooms get an update, helping keep the feel of your home fresh. Additional benefits that plants have is extra CO2 in the room and can help reduce stress levels.
