Gift ideas for Babies and Toddlers
Lets start with a few practical gifts. They may not be exciting but they will be really appreciated by parents of babies and toddlers.
Let me introduce you to b.box! This is an amazing brand I use for my kids on a daily basis (we use their lunch and snack boxes). Their range of beakers, bottles and their new insulated food jars are great for little ones and adults alike. Their items are durable, BPA-free, and dishwasher-safe, making them as practical as they are fun. Perfect for kids on the go, and they come in a range of funky colours!
- The 360 Cup is perfect for training toddlers to drink independently, without the hassle and mess of an open top cup
- Their insulated bottle is perfect for kids and adults on the go. The easy push button opening top and silicon straw makes it great for independent drinking. And the stainless steel bottle means its durable enough to take plenty of bumps from busy life. It keeps drinks cold for up to 8 hours or warm for up to 6 hours.
- Their new Insulated Food Jars are perfect for meals on the go. With the easy grip handles they encourage independence. the wide and smooth opening make for easy eating and cleaning afterwards. The spark fits seamlessly into the base bumper, so you’ll never forget it. Plus you can remove the handles and bumper for use by older kids, teens and adults. Double wall stainless steel keeps food cool for up to 7 hours and warm for up to 5
Helping to sooth little ones to sleep can sometimes be a challenging activity. But the gentle soothing sound from the Munchkin Portable Sound Machine is perfect for helping little ones nod off peacefully. The soft silicon machine gives off a gentle highlight glow, has 3 different sounds (heartbeat, womb and shh), multiple volumes and a timer so it will turn off once baby is (hopefully) asleep. Light weight and battery operated it is great if you are out and about, and perfect for travel.
Bigjigs Ladybug Lidecycle Puzzle is a thoughtful and educational Christmas gift for young nature enthusiasts. This beautifully crafted wooden puzzle introduces children to the life stages of a ladybird, sparking curiosity about the wonders of the natural world. Each piece is brightly colored and easy for little hands to handle, making it ideal for developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and early problem-solving. Eco-friendly and engaging, this puzzle is a delightful way to encourage learning through play, adding a touch of nature to their toy collection.
I love a baby in a cute pair of leggings, and add a matching bib and you have a truly winning combo. I adore the bright bold patterns from Ziggle, and their recent collaboration with Cosatto is super cute. Every little one needs a pretty bib or 2, and no mama will say no to a nice new muslin! Honestly I believe muslins are the most useful baby items ever and this unicorn one is so blinking cute. These items would make a brilliant gift for a baby or toddler, and they have lots of different patterns to chose from
Does your little one love In The Night Garden? This gorgeous Iggle Piggle Blankie Bundle would be a lovely gift for your toddler or a friends baby. The cosy and super soft Iggle Piggle Plushy is attached to a beautiful blanket for soothing nap and bed time cuddles. Perfect for helping little ones sooth themselves to sleep and feel safe.
The Sili Twisty Bendable Multi-Texture Teether from Munchkin is a lovely first Christmas gift for a new baby. They dont really know what christmas is yet, and they honestly dont really need any toys, but they will still love this teething toy. The multi-textured areas are brilliant for sore gums and little hands to explore. The chunky but soft silicon is perfect for little grasping hands too. plus the fiddle rings will keep them entertained.
How gorgeous is this Rainbow Nightlight from Light4Fun! It would be the perfect addition to a nursery or toddlers bedroom. The lights in the little clouds give off a warm white glow to help little ones feel safe at night, but without being bright enough to keep them awake. Plus with the 6 hour timer setting it will automatically switch off once little ones are asleep. Battery operated so no need for cables, and you can hang it on a wall or pop it on a shelf!
Trying to think of gifts for babies can actually be really hard, but if they are under 1 (or late teethers!) then teething toys are likely to be a big hit. The Gummee Glove and the Gummee Link N Teethe were both big hits in this house. Teething babies enjoy nothing more than chewing on their own hands, so just pop on the Gummee Glove and they have a multi textural teething toy to enjoy. The Gummee Links are a great sensory toy that double as a teether, perfect for when your on the go or playing at home. Pop them on your pram so babies have something to reach and grab when out and about, then unlink them when they need something to chew on.
We are already big fans of Magicubes in this house (or any magnetic building toys to be honest). Effie already has the small set of this but Ive been wanting to get her more to add on to help her have more creative freedom. If your little one loves building blocks these are a great addition to the toy collection. They are perfect if little one is just starting to stack too, as the magnets allows them to ‘stick together’ when little one might not be steady enough to stack them on their own yet. This is the 16 piece set up you can find a number of other sets depending on how big you want to go and how much budget you have to spend.
All kids love bubbles! It’s like a universal law I think. So every household needs a bubble machine. This octopus one from Lukat is cute, not too big, but still pumps out the bubbles at a rapid rate to keep little ones happy. This is sure to be a hit with kids of all ages. They are especially great for bath time or outdoors in the summer to ass some extra fun to the garden or when using a paddling pool.
If your little one has started weaning, or just starting to get to grips with cutlery then I would highly recommend getting them a set of doddl cutlery! Elian used these from around 12 months old and they allowed him to properly get to grips with the cutting motion for a knife and controlling cutlery a bit better (I reviewed them here). They have a unique shape and chunky handles which are easier for little hands to deal with. They would make a great little gift of stocking filler for any little ones or any parents with little ones as they really are super useful.
I think tiny baby shoes are possibly the cutest thing in the world! We all love a lil baby foot, so its natural to love lil baby shoes too. Dotty Fish Soft Leather Shoes are the perfect first shoes when babies start walking. Bare foot is the best, but not always practical, so these super soft and flexible shoes are the next best thing. They come with either grippy rubber of non slip suede soles so are perfect when baby hasn’t quite got their balance all the time. And they come in a huge range of colours and designs
Personalised books can be a great present for babies and toddlers at any time of year. Wonderbly do a beautiful range of different personalised books but my favourite is the Lost My Name books. I was sent one for Elian when he was a baby and now I have the new rainbow themed one for Effie too. You chose your character to look like your little one, then a different animal of mythical being for each letter of their name. Each animal character has its own little story and beautiful illustrations that come together to build all the letters of your babies name. This is really special to me as my kids names don’t come up in many places so it is lovely for them to have these story books featuring them.
Gift Ideas for New Mums
Jewellery is a sure fire way to make a mum feel special, especially if it is something personal to her. This Loveu Necklace from Anburis is just beautiful. What is particularly cool is that it is 3D printed so has the words ‘Love You’ on one side and ‘Forever’ on the other. Im wearing the gold 18ct gold plated here, but it comes in silver and rose gold too. And if you wanted to take the personal aspect a bit further you can actually have a pendant made with 2 names interlocked instead of the ‘Love You Forever’ words. Its delicate but still eye catching and so interesting to look at
A calendar is needed once you have kids. Suddenly you’re needing to juggle multiple peoples diaries and making sure everyone gets to where they need to be. The Danilo Bluey Deluxe Family Planner is the perfect Christmas gift for families who love to stay organized—and who adore Bluey! Featuring playful Bluey illustrations, this planner keeps everyone’s schedules in check with dedicated columns for each family member, helping to manage school activities, work, appointments, and playdates. Complete with colorful stickers and ample space for notes, it brings a bit of Bluey’s joyful spirit into daily planning. Practical yet fun, this family planner is a fantastic way to kick off the new year with cheerful organization!
Ramer Sponges make a huge range of sponges for all the family. Their ultra soft baby sponge is perfect for delicate newborn skin, whereas their cleansing shammy is great as a washcloth. Then for mamas who are possibly still feeling a bit sore and fragile after having a baby, the Ramer’s super soft body sponges are perfect to help you feel a little bit pampered but still allow you to have a good cleansing wash to leave your skin feeling refreshed and healthy. The sponges are all hypoallergenic and machine washable to help them last longer.
Every mum needs a nice personalised photo mug!! We have numerous personalised mugs in this house, and we often gift them to grandparents at christmas time, with updated photos of the kids on them. For new mums, a mug with a photo of their new little ones would be a very thoughtful and gratefully received gift. Cewe offer a range of mugs and other personalised photo products for all your gifting needs.
One of the most practical gifts I have been given that has in fact proven the most useful was my travel mug! I use it all the time so I can grab a cuppa and head out the door. Being a busy mum of 2 who also runs a few businesses means Im usually on the go, but I also need my cup of tea to start the day. Having a good travel cup has been a god send. And these mugs from SoleCup with their pastel rubber grip and drip proof lids are so blinking pretty. The glass is dishwasher and microwave safe too!
SoleCup also do some rather beautiful stainless steel insulated bottles which are great to throw in your bag when you’re out and about. I have a water bottle on me at all times as its surprising how dehydrated you get if you are breast feeding or simply busy and forget to actually have a drink! This violet colour is just so pretty too
And if you use SOLECUP15 at the checkout you will get a little discount too!
A luxury bath and body set would make a lovely gift for a new mum (especially if you offer to watch the kids while she enjoys a peaceful bath too!) and this Glen Rosa Body Care Set from Arran is the perfect choice. Show her she deserves to have a little me time to help her rest, relax and recharge after a no doubt busy day with a little one. The set contains a luxury bath and shower gel and an indulgent creamy body lotion in a fig and yang yang scent which is warm, sweet and delicate.
This beautifully delicate and intricately designed Lioness and Cub necklace from Jana Reinhardt is the epitome of maternal love. The strong protective mother carrying her cub is just so symbolic of mums and their love for their little ones. Handcrafted from either 925 sterling silver, platinum, 9ct or 18ct gold it really would make a most amazing gift and show a mum of any age just how special she is. You can even have the pendant personalised with upto 3 small letters to make it extra special.
A great way to treat a new mama is with some beautiful new pyjamas. A lovely new silk pyjama set from IDentity Lingerie would be a very special gift for a tired mama. With the button front tops they are perfect for breastfeeding too! IDentity Lingerie has both long and short sets, and they come in a range of colours and patterns. Silk pyjamas are great for keeping cool in bed and they are soft on your skin, and babies if your cuddled up for late night feeds.
There is nothing more relaxing and decadent than a spa break right? Well sometimes us busy mums don’t really get the time to take a whole day out for a spa, but grabbing 30 minutes of me time can be just as good. So why not treat her to a beautiful The Dead Sea Co Mineral Mask set so she can really indulge in that spa feeling from home. This 3-in-1 face mask purifies, hydrates and brightens your skin in just 10 minutes. The product is cruelty free (no animal testing), made from 96% naturally derived ingredients and packaged in recyclable containers. Whats more £1 from every Mineral Mud Mask sold is donated to EcoPeace Middle East to tackle water scarcity issues in the Jordan Valley. SO do your little bit fr the planet, and give the lady in your life a little self pampering gift!

This has given me some great ideas for Cora, she will be nearly 6 months at Christmas and I have been so stuck on what to get her. The fox teether is adorable (I have a lot of love for Foxy things too) and I want to get her a neckerchew as she constantly chews her bibs. The pop n jump looks brilliant! Does it fold down? I hope you have a wonderful first Christmas with Elian
Hi, I’m so glad you found this post useful! I am in love with the foxy teether so much!!
The pop N Jump collapses down like a camp chair, so it folds in at the four points and then fits inside a long bag, its great!
A good list here; it’ll be a fab add to the #ChristmasGiftGuide linky I’m cohosting.
Hmmm, the wish app seems like one to get – sounds like a good one for a savvy shopper.
The sensory toys and personalised book especially caught my attention.
That book is absolutely stunning!! I will be recommending it to everyone with kids. Its not a cheap print one that you usually see and the story is substantial at least 2 pages worth per letter, and its absolutely beautiful!
Wish app is great but dangerous!!
I’ll keep your tip about the wish app in mind … LOL … personalised books is taking the world by storm, it seems. Love the creativity it inspires. 🙂
I’m pinching some of these ideas for my little one!
Aww hope they likes them!!
Those sensory toys are perfect for babies, such a great idea!
Thank you! I’m making sensory kits for a load of the mums at our playgroup, its been fun sourcing and collecting interesting bits for the babies!
Water pouring boat set for my nephew!
