Tasty Treats for Foodies
How does an afternoon tea hamper sound? I think this is the perfect little gift for grandparents or a friend who deserves a little extra treat. This gorgeous afternoon tea hamper from Boutique Gifts is the perfect gift to send someone. the pink gift box is packed with tasty biscuits, lovely tea, cake, chocolate and jam. It would be great to enjoy with a friend whilst curled up cozy and under a blanket by a fireside. (I’ve tested out those Raspberry Ripple Cookies already and can assure you they are delicious!)
Know someone who loves to bake, but also has an allergy? Then these amazing baking kits from Creative Nature would be a perfect fun gift. They have a huge range of products which are free of the top 14 allergens. And I can personally attest that the Carrot Cake and Banana Bread are both so good! Packed with flavour and taste no different to the ones that have all the allergens in them. They would be perfect to add to a baking hamper – pop a few in a beautiful mixing bowl, with a silicon spoon, an oven glove or an apron and you have a thoughtful gift any baker will love.
Alcohol Gift Sets can be great gifts for Christmas time. Often they are something a little different to what people might drink on a day to day basis, and like this Cranes Cider Gift Set they sometimes contain glasses and a mixture of flavoured items. This set is only £15.99 and has 3 different ciders, Raspberry & Pomegranate, Blueberries & Apples and Cranberries & Lime as well as a Cranes Cider Glass, which is a really good price. These can be great gifts for older teens (18+ only obvs) or any cider lovers.
Not everyone is a fan of alcohol though, but let’s not leave them out of the fun drinks. Clean Co is an awesome non-alcoholic drinks company providing alcohol free version of Gin, Pink Gin, Whiskey and Rum. These are a great option for making non alcoholic cocktails and other mixed drinks. The great taste without the alcohol!
This delicious Hazelnut Chocolate Spread from Bonne Maman is perfect for anyone who has a bit of a sweet tooth. Christmas is the perfect reason to indulge in some tasty treats…especially those soaked in alcohol! Opies has the perfect collection of Boxing Day accompaniments that will be great alongside a salad or turkey sandwiches like their gherkins and pickled onions. Or to spice up your dessert table with something a little naughty like their Peaches in Brandy, baby pears in Amaretto or black cherries in Kirsch.
Not sure if it is just me but Christmas always seems to be a good time of year for grazing plates and indulgent snacks. We love nothing more than a plate of cheese and crackers with some tasty chutneys in front of a festive movie in the evening. And I always turn to Tracklements for delicious chutneys. Honestly their Caramelised Onion Marmalade is my absolute favourite! The Gardeners Collection chutney gift set is perfect mixture of chutneys for any body who loves their cheese plates. Featuring the Green Tomato Chutney, Country Garden Chutney and Zingy Rosemary Jelly.
If you’re not a fan of chocolate then maybe sweets are more your thing! If that’s the case look no further than Candy Roo Pick n Mix bags. These are the perfect sweet treat for kids and adults of all ages. You can chose from a range of sized bags or jars. with over 100 sweets to chose from pre mixed or pick your own favourite sweeties and they will mix up your bags and post them out to you. Want to go all out and send a hamper jam packed with sweet treats that are sure to be a big hit with all the family, from the kids to the grown ups, then I would suggest a Rococo Chocolates gift box! Honestly the chocolates and treats from these guys are just blinking delicious. Even if you don’t want to send a big box the individual items would be perfect for a stocking or as a little extra treat for someones Christmas gifts. We have had these for the past few years and me and Jon love settling down in the evening with those salted Caramel Truffles, they are beyond tasty!
Non Edible Gifts for Foodies
Here are a few foodie related gifts that are non edible! These are great as additional gifts with something food or cooking based, or perfect to pop in the stocking of a foodie fan.
If you think the person you’re buying for would appreciate some innovative and super stylish cookware look no further than Hokan Bowls. These sustainable, stylish, stackable, stoneware bowls and lids are oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. Plus they come in a range of block colours and 3 different sizes. If you like your kitchen minimal and streamlined then these would be a brilliant addition. They are modern, elegant, versatile and super practical.
How cute is this little Cactus Scrub Sponge! Washing up may be the most boring part of the cooking process so why not make it a little more fun…and a little bit cute, with a novelty scrubber that still does the job. These Cactus Scrub Sponges come in a pack of 2 and are scratch free so will be sure not to damage any of your cookware or glassware!
These Doggy oven gloves from Oven Paws are perfect for both foodies and dog lovers! And they come in a range of different dog breed (and cat breed) options, single gloves and double gloves like my Cocker Spaniel ones! The mitts are beautifully embroidered with detailed dog or cat pictures so make a real statement in your kitchen and will make a really precious gift to a loved one.
If you’re anything like me you tend to have lots of open bags of food on the go. Usually its things like pasta or flour, bags of the kids snacks, half eaten packs of crisps or popcorn, big bags of raisins or even packets of grated cheese in my fridge. Sometimes I close them with the little sticky labels they give you but often they lose the stickiness once they have been opened a few times, and actual clothes pegs are too long and often get knocked off when in my cupboard or my bag. These cute little Doggie Bag Clips from Kikkerland are a great way to seal your bags, keep your food fresh and they just look cute! Perfect for anyone with littles who has to take snacks on the go!
Another way to keep your food fresh is using Beesxax wraps. These handy little sheets are great for sealing and covering things like half cut fruit and veg and are great for lunch boxes, meaning less plastic waste from things like cling film and sandwich bags. Now I know you can buy a whole host of different beeswax wraps online, but this DIY Beeswax Wraps Kit from Kikkerland would be great fun for creating and maintaining your own wraps.
So there you have our gift guide for foodies. There are so many things that you can get the foodie in your life and I hope this has given you a little bit of inspiration. Happy Christmas shopping!
