The City Break Packing Guide – Your Mini-Break Packing Essentials

The City Break Packing GuideWhile laying around in the sunshine is great, many of us prefer city breaks over beach holidays. Travelling to new cities around the world (or even in the UK) is a great way to explore a new place and soak up some culture, but like any holiday, a little bit of preparation is always needed! Take a look at these tips on the best things to pack for your upcoming city break.

The Perfect Jacket

Whether you’re exploring sunny Barcelona or rainy Edinburgh, you always need to take a reliable jacket along on your travels to make sure you’re equipped for chilly weather. Styles such as a denim jacket or duster coat are great for milder weather, while parka’s or faux fur jackets make a cosy addition to your outfit in colder climates.

Some Comfortable Shoes

The last thing you need is sore, blistered feet as you explore the new city you’re in, so make sure you get some comfortable shoes to wear for the duration of the trip. Many online retailers such as Uppersole offer quality footwear in a range of styles. Think trainers for walking around, or even flat pumps and comfortable brogues for stylish day wear that can also be dressed up for the evening.

A Waterproof Mac

Even if you’re venturing out of the UK, you can never come too prepared, as even the warmest climates can experience some rainfall from time to time. Buy yourself a cheap waterproof pac-a-mac that can be easily folded and kept in your handbag in the event of an extra rainy day. These come in a variety of styles and designs, so you won’t have to worry about festival-esque poncho’s cramping your style!

Some Cosy Casuals

Cosy jumpers, simple t-shirts and versatile jeans all deserve a place in your city break suitcase. The best thing about casual clothing is that it can easily be worn in the day and then jazzed up for night time drinks with some jewellery and accessories.

A Practical Backpack

Last but not least, you’ll need to make sure you take a reliable bag along with you for carrying all those essential bits and bobs. Backpacks are perfect for city breaks as they allow your hands to be free for taking photos, while still keeping things like bottles of water and travel itineraries together. Shop around for backpack’s in fashionable designs, to make sure you’re still looking stylish while maintaining some practicality.
