[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Last week was the opening of the brand spanking new Superdrug Beauty Studio Concept store in the St Davids Centre in Cardiff, and I was invited to attend their VIP opening on Thursday evening to check it all out! The new concept store is the first of its kind in the UK and is truly amazing (even coming from a non-beauty girl!) It is so bright and shiny, and seriously enticing, with all its neon signs and beautiful custom made stands, the make-up layout is the best I think I have seen in any store. Superdrug have really upped their game and this store feels more like a high end department store beauty floor, complete with its very own mini salon![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]I was so impressed by all the beauty brand displays, even I felt the urge to buy stuff (which I will be reviewing in another posts soon)! This new Superdrug Beauty Studio store also stocks the new in house brands The Balm, Makeup Revolution and B.
Plus there is plenty of nail products, beauty products, hair products, perfume and everything else you expect. They have also managed to get a number of exclusive brands and products for the new store, which you won’t be able to pick up anywhere else!
The highlight of the store though is something that they have never done before…their in store stylists and beauty therapists.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Superdrug Beauty Studio has stations for eyebrow threading and tinting, Eyelash extensions and tinting, manicures, ear piercing and hair styling – plus they have a fully fitted studio with highly trained stylists, all in-store! You don’t need an appointment, just rock up and get your tresses sorted!
It was lovely to see the new store and spend some time with my fellow blogging ladies, Joanna from The Welsh Housewife, SJ from Cowbiscuits and Gemma from Fat Frocks. This is Jo after she got her hair blow-dried and styled, SJ getting her nails done, Gemma after having her false Eyelure lashes fitted and me getting my hair cut!
I also got invited to have dinner at Tempus in the St David’s Hotel with the Superdrug Beauty Studio management team, Superdrug head office team, as well as a few journalists and industry professionals. But I will save the pictures of the yummy food for a review of the restaurant very soon!
p.s. Don’t forget to enter our July Giveaway! Love the idea of the instore stylists and therapists! #UKbloggers
They were brilliant too! My eyebrows haven’t looked so good in months! lol!
I have to say this looks very impressive, though spending more than 5 minutes in there would bankrupt me 😉
Lol that is very true, although it is mostly just womens stuff, You should get your hair done there!
It was definitely the best store event I’ve been too. Love greeting and tour and the services were all great and professional. Want to head back when I have a bit more time and try out all the exclusive brands x
Yeah the guided tour was really good! I went back and spent my voucher this week! Got the Balm lippy and some of the makeup revolution items (then went online and bought a ton more makeup revolution stuff, lol! They don’t have their full lippy range in store, and I kinda wanted to try them all, so ended up buying 6 red tone ones, hehe!)
wow i would love a make over i think i have still been putting my make up on the same way in years
Great review. If you don’t mind me asking how did you get an invite to the opening. x
Hannah
I’ve been around for 5 years Hannah, I am on most PR peoples radars in all honesty, it took me a good 2 years before I got any invites, but things are moving much faster now, it shouldn’t take as long. Im not even a beauty blogger, so I’m honestly not sure. They just get emailed or tweeted to me. What I would say though is don’t pester PR’s for invites, introduce yourself if you get a chance, but don’t go asking as I have spoken to many PR’s who get really fed up of people doing that, it became a little bit of an issue locally, where the long term bloggers who helped organise events were getting complaints from the PR’s we worked with, it ends up reflecting bad on all of us. Just keep wringing great content and linking up to them on social networking so they notice you!
Sounds like the best way to do it. I’ll have to start going back onto twitter, haven’t tweeted anything on there for ages. x
