It’s 2015!! Hurray and Happy New Year! Although I will be doing a wrap up of mine and Jon’s year and our best posts, I thought I would do something a little different first. So I asked the blogging community what they thought were their top posts so I could compile an ‘According to Blogger – Best Posts of 2014’ collection. It was really insightful and interesting to see the varied collection of post and topics they came up with, and to see how diverse the blogging world really is. The posts range from fun fashion and beauty, all the way to heavy hitting and deeply personal. So here are the posts they all chose, I hope you find something interesting to read and maybe a new blogger or two to follow.
- The lovely Georgina of Makeup-Pixi3 says her favourite post of the year was the one where she announced she was having a baby! Her and her husband had been having a bad start to 2014 so this news really turned their lives around. And their gorgeous baby, William, is now in the world so you will be able to read more about Georgina’s life as a Mummy on her Mummy-Pixie blog.
- Jo from Ojo’s World chose one of her posts that was very personal to her, and one she found very hard to write because it involved her opening up and admitting something to the blogging world which she hadn’t before. She said it was her favourite post of 2014 because of the support that came flooding in from the online community (which I personally think is great)
- Lisa from Hollybobb‘s also wrote a similar post about living with an invisible illness. Depression was highlighted in the Media after the suicide of Robin Williams, so she thought it was about time to write about her own experiences with the illness and her other conditions, in the hope it might help others in a similar situation.
- Yummy Blogger Heledd also chose a personal post, one about her breastfeeding journey. She never thought she would blog about something so personal but soon realised that sharing real life stories and providing new mummies with personal information was really helpful to them (and I totally agree).
- The sweet Ruth of Let Her Eat Clean chose an upbeat post about her ‘Happy Place’! Which she said she has rediscovered since moving back to the beautiful countryside of Wales.
- Louise from Confessions of a Secret Shopper said one of her most popular posts from 2014 was her What’s in my Travel Wash Bag post, its had lots of views, seems to be popular with her readers and has even been linked to by other blogger so she is very happy with it.
- Steph from Steph’s Two Girls said her favourite post was all about their top 5 activities at Centre Parks, it includes some videos and hopefully helps to show people what the Park is really like.
- Who doesn’t love the theatre? Vikki from Planet Vikki said her most popular post of the year was about her trip to see The Lion King at the Wales Millennium Centre,a fear she won two tickets!
- Mental Parentals Mummy Steph has said her favourite post of the year is one that came about spontaneously after a conversation with some friends about providing for her son’s financially future and how she won’t be saving for his University fees.
- Joy from Pinkoddy‘s favourite post is one she wrote about Underage Drinking, its an important message and it got a conversation going around the topic, which is really important to her.
- Kate from Family Fever‘s favourite post was her come back to an article written about how your third child brings less joy then your first 2, being a mum of 3 obviously she didn’t agree!
- Clare from Emmy’s Mummy chose a very impressive post as her favourite of the year, all about her 13,000ft skydive for The Lullaby Trust Charity. There is a video too for those of you who want to see how she fared on the way down.
- Can’t Swing a Cat blog is all about money saving and being thrifty, that’s why Jen chose her saving £3000 in 3 months post as her favourite. It’s been very popular with her readers as she offers up plenty of practical tips on how they too can save money and add to their savings funds. (I’ll be taking on a few ideas myself this year!)
- Chantelle from Mama, Mummy, Mum says her fav post of the whole year has to be the one celebrating 10 years with her hubby. (Huge congrats! I’ll be hitting this milestone in Feb too!)
- Mum’s do Travel specialises in travelling with kids and Gretta said her most popular post was one she wrote on the heated topic of allowing families to travel during term time. (Something even though I’m not a mum myself yet, I totally agree with) She makes the argument that travel, experiencing culture and family time is often more educational and helpful to a child’s development that the last few days of term ever would be!
- And lastly a post from Rebecca of Orthodox Sunflower, she is new to the blogging world so everyone swing by and say hi! Her blog is all about her life as a Orthodox Jew.
So there you have it, a great mixture of some of the best bloggers posts for 2014!
