Thats the end of January then…ok were already a week into February already but are you really surprised Im only just getting this post up? I seem to be perpetually a few days behind with everything in life at the moment….roll on schools going back in Wales eh!? Anyway I think we have had a fairly successful month on the aims front and we have made lots of small changes to our home and our life in general this month and we are all feeling a bit better for it.
But first heres my most popular instagram post from January. Please do go check out my insta and give it a like! Im on my stories most days even when I’m not posting on the grid.

Heres my original January Aims 2021 post if you want to read that first
Family Life/Personal Aims
- Keep up our meal planning every week: Completed We did have Hello Fresh (use this link if you fancy trying it with £20 off) for the last week of the month so I didn’t have to plan all the meals that week, but we have managed to stick to our meal plan 6 days out of 7 each week
- Finish my book: Completed Ladies and gents round of applause please! I didn’t just finish 1 book…I finished 4!! Whoop! Really feel like ive got my reading mojo back and I love it. Now to keep it up
- Use Team TOMM Cleaning Method: Completed Well we have taken this method onboard as a household and we are actually enjoying using it. It been easier for us to know which room we need to focus on and it feels like the house is getting a good clean. Weve missed the odd day if we’ve been busy but always try to pick it up the next day we can.
These are the books I read:
Blogging Aims for January 2021
- Carry on working through and updating my recipe posts: Ongoing 4/61 I only managed to update one this month, the Slimming World Diet Coke Chicken Recipe but I actually re-cooked the dish and did new photos, so it had a really thorough update. I know this is gonna take a while and bonging so not too worried about this
- Write 3 toy reviews: Failed I managed to get the Haba Snug Up Doll Review posted but the other 2 toy reviews didn’t happen, mainly as I didn’t have time/nice day light to get photos done.
- Restart my YouTube channel! Kinda Started So I didn’t manage to film anything new to go up but I did manage to migrate all of the videos I wanted to move from my old secondary channel. Which was one of the jobs I wanted to get done in relation to my YouTube…go check them out maybe!
Financial Aims for January 2021
- No spend January: Completed We are very pleased today we managed this minus 1 day! We had our spending rules (allowing 1 take away, no snacks, allowed spends etc) and we only slipped outside our rules on 1 day! So I am calling that a win.
- Continue to track my finances using the I Save Money app: Completed This has become a norm for me now, to record all my spends on my app. So I feel like ive managed to build this as a health finance habit and it will continue
- Stick to my £400 grocery budget again: Failed Technically my supermarket shops were under this but as we had hello fresh the last week I went over the £400 by £13 for the month, including our takeaway mid month. But I am quite happy with that to be honest, and ive got items here which will last the first few weeks of the month too.
- Hit my £200 side hustle goal: Completed I am very pleased that managed to smash my £200 target and pay off £382.77 most of which has been from us clearing out and selling things on marketplace or eBay
- Make at least £50 from surveys this month: Failed I actually let this slip majorly this month as I spent most my spare time either decluttering or letting myself have comedown time and reading, so I only managed about £20 this month
In Summery
So I had 11 aims this month to start with. I completed 6, have 1 ongoing and 1 started, and 3 fails. Im pretty pleased with that to be honest. We have made lots of steps in the right direction and made some good changes to start the year which I hope we can continue.
