Now the warmer weather is here we will no doubt be spending lots more time outdoors in nature. Both of our kids love nothing more than running free and having lots of fun in our local parks. Last year for their birthday we bought them a wooden climbing frame with swing and slide for our garden, so they could have outdoor fun without us actually having to drive to the local park. Our set came with 2 regular swings which the kids do love, but we’ve added 2 new items to our outdoor toy collection, both of which can easily be added to the climbing frame, a Button Swing and a Trapeze Bar
We were sent this toy for review by Jaques of London but all thought and opinions are my own
The Button Swing Seat
This is a circular easy grip plastic seat with a central rope for attaching to your climbing frame or to a tree branch. This is perfect for hours of swinging fun out in nature. A great way to add some play time to your garden and allow your kids a sense of adventure. Being outdoors in nature and enjoying some natural exercise is a great way to boost kids minds and build on their independence.
The Button Swing Seat is intended for kids over 3 years old. Made from weatherproof materials for long lasting durable garden play. It has an adjustable rope so can be hung from a multitude of places and easily be accessible for kids. It can either be attached to hooks on your existing frame, or you can purchase tree hanging straps to easily attach it to tree branches in your garden or to add additional straps to your climbing frame.
The Let’s Explore Trapeze Bar
This solid wood bar is tethered either end to strong ropes which can be hung on traditional swing hooks on a climbing frame, or hung from a tree with tree hanging straps. From beneath the bar hangs 2 easy grip handles. Just get a good grip and go for a swing, either holding the bar or the handles. Again the ropes are easily adjustable so can be set at a variety of heights depending on the child using it. If you have an adventurous little one they could even hang from the bar by their legs! The Trapeze Bar offers a whole host of activities, and no doubt hours of fun!
Now Elian is quite a cautious child to start with when it comes to new things, so although the bar is meant for hanging from we knew he would need to build up to that, and he liked the idea of using it as a standing swing instead. Luckily due to the height adjustment on it we have been able to add the bar low down for now so he can stand and swing on it, which he loved. We will try it up high as a trapeze bar in a few weeks time when he has gotten a bit braver.
What we thought of the Jaques of London Garden Playground Accessories
- Good quality rope, not white meaning if it gets dirty its not going to look awful. If you’re going to be leaving it outside in all weathers there is a chance its going to get dirty!
- Clasps and fixings feel sturdy, which is reassuring when you know your little ones are probably giving them a battering with lots of rough play
- Very easy to attach to the fixing on our climbing frame. Meaning it is also easy to take them off again when I want to store them away or change them to the normal swings
- We like the green colour as its not too garish in the garden and matches our slide.
- Loads of height adjustment in them, so they can be used on the frame, in trees and for a range of ages
- Rope doesn’t feel rough, so is comfortable in the hands, especially for little ones with softer hands as they have to grip on to it more than a conventional swing

Great review, the toys look great quality and most importantly, fun!
Lovely pics and a lovely swing. I spent many happy hours on the swing when I was a child, though it was made by Dad and not made by Jacques – so it didn’t last! Jacques is an enduring and trusted brand for a very good reason.
Wow, such great fun and lots of fresh air too!
So nice for kids tp play outside and these would be a smart addition to your garden
The kids would love this in the garden! So would I to be honest, I could actually get stuff done in the house! I think I’ll look into that for the 6 week holidays
Perfect for my grandchildren who love outdoor play and such great quality products!

This equipment looks amazing, my children would love it!
My great grandson would love this, not sure it would fit in his small garden though, so maybe it could go in my garden.
they look really great quality, and its good to know they’re easily removed off the climbing frame. I’ve had others that have been a nightmare and have ended up being cut off 🙁
The button swing seat looks like loads of fun.
I think anything that gets children outside exploring safely and having fun is fantastic, be very hard to keep them indoors i reckon. The Jaques stuff is l,ovely because you can see the premium quality so you know it will be safe and hardwearing , quite an asset these days, when you buy toys you dont want to be increasing landfill .iI cant find the link for joining the Jaques newsletter so i will have to just do from a search engine and hope ok
