We have been in the new house since September and for the majority of that time I have been looking for soft furnishings for our living room. It took me 3 months to find the perfect rug and I was still struggling to find cushions. The rug is purple and navy, and a lot of our furniture and touches in the house are mid-century modern style, so I was hoping to find some cushions that would work with that.
When designer Lorna Syson got in touch to ask if I would like to receive one of her new designs, and she said she had the perfect design to match our home interior I couldn’t wait for our new cushions to arrive in the post.Well as you can see in the pictures my cushions have arrived and they are awesome!! These are Lorna’s Bradbury Worcesterberry Cushions and incorporate a berry toned geometric pattern that fits perfectly in with my mid-century modern interiors. The pattern is screen printed on 100% cotton fabric that is really thick and durable! And the cushions are really high quality. I’m not worried about Opie scratching the material or getting them dirty as they are also machine washable! Which is always a big plus point. They came with great big feather inserts so properly plush (sadly I had to change them out as I have a feather allergy!) and really comfortable.
I am very tempted by the fact she makes a matching lampshade (my old black lamp needs an update after 8 years!) and I am very tempted by a few of her other designs. Lorna has designed and made a great selection of geometric and nature inspired designs which adorn cushions, wallpaper, lampshades, fabric (for your own DIY products) and stationary.
Keep an eye out for my interview with Lorna Syson on the blog in the coming weeks, I really think she is a designer to keep your eye on as I could see her products in top department stores in years to come.
