Ive not done a monthly goals and aims post for a few months so I thought I would bring it back but as a bit more of a monthly review post. I like the idea of looking back on the previous month to see what I posted about, what we got up to, what we have enjoyed, but also include any goals and aims I may have had or any I am planning for the next month! So these posts are going to be a bit of a higgledy piggledy brain dump in some ways, haha! I hope that is ok with you guys! I may find a better structure for it going forward but for now I will just roll with it how ever it comes out.

What we’ve been up to
As this month has included half term for the dude and Halloween we made the most of the time off together and did a great evening trip to West Midlands Safari Park for their Lantern Festival. And of course we did the mandatory Pumpkin Picking at one of our local pumpkin patches.
Effie and I attended a toddler halloween messy play party at our local soft play and Elian went to a friends soft play party last Friday, so they both had lots of fun doing that.
We had planned to go trick or treating on Halloween but thanks to the crazy weather here we decided just to have a movie night (The animated Addams Family 2 – Elian’c choice) and enjoy the tread box I bought from a local bakery.
For Jon and I it was the start of our Christmas sessions in the studio. So we finalised this years set up and Jon started shooting during half term, but most the booked sessions will be over the weekends during November. It is always a really crazy time for the business!
What we’ve been loving
We’ve been enjoying Hello Fresh meals for most of this month and I can honestly recommend them if you want to take the hassle out of trying to meal plan all the time. If you want to try them out you can get a discount using this link.
I am still trying to plough my way through the mountains of childrens clothes I have here which is all too small for Effie and Elian. So I have been using Vinted a lot to sell on the nicer unwanted stuff. I highly recommend signing up if you are looking to clear your wardrobe or you are looking for some bargain clothes. Ive bought both kids some amazing pieces from there at really cheap prices. Sign up here!
The kids have been loving spending lots of time together, partly due to half term and partly because Elian was off school a lot due to being unwell. The have been enjoying the new Nuby Ball Pit* Effie was sent (review coming soon!) although I dont enjoy collecting balls from all over my living room and kitchen 10 times a day, haha!
Elian has become slightly obsessed with Super Things toys, so I now have a dozen or so of these little tiny plastic figures constantly dotted around my living room! But he loves them so I cant complain too much.
What I’ve been Reading and Watching
Reading – So this month I finished 2 books.
So Lucky by Dawn O’Porter – I have already read all Dawn’s other fiction books, this is the last one of her current collection. And I really enjoyed it. I think I enjoyed Cows more, but this was still a great easy read. I tend to be able to read them fairly quickly as they are simple reading, which is just what I feel I need sometimes
Good as Dead by Susan Walter – This was one of the monthly free kindle books I get with my prime subscription. It was a pretty decent storyline and concept but I felt it wrapped up too quickly. Its as if the author ran out of steam towards the end. The actual premise is a really good idea though and up until that point it is well written. I would be tempted to look at this author again in the future
Watching – We watch a lot! Like a lot, a lot! So I won’t list it all but I’ll highlight the top few things we have been watching this month, old and new stuff
- Season 8 of Married at First Sight Australia
- Maid (Amazing series and a must see!)
- Squid Games
- Hypnotic
- Money Heist
- Season 6 of Ru Paul Drag Race All Stars
- Shazam (Movie)
- Till Death (Movie)
- Thunder Force (Movie)
- The Rite (Movie)
- RIPD (Movie)
- Great British Bake Off (Current Season)
- The Chestnut Man (Series)

Aims and Goals for November
So as November is a crazy busy month for the business and we are on the lead unto Christmas I haven’t set myself to many goals. Hopefully these will be more manageable for me. Ive not broken them down into areas like I was doing back in April as there aren’t as many this time round.
- Finish Christmas Shopping – I am almost done tbh, just a few pieces to pick up for Elian and a few bits for their December box and stockings and I think I am good. I really want this all sorted by December so I can relax and not have to stress on the lead up to Christmas Day. Just have the wrapping to do then.
- Get back on track with Slimming World – So I joined Slimming World back in the summer holidays, managed to drop 1.5 stone but for the whole of October I have lacked motivation due to being so busy and have been off plan, but November is a new month and I am determined to go back this week and try have a really good month focusing on healthy eating before December kicks in!!
- Meal Plan and Budget – I had been really good at sticking to our food budget and making sure I write a meal plan ever week, but again illness and busyness knocked me off track so I want to get right back on it for November
- Keep Listing on Vinted – I still have a crazy amount of kids clothing here which I need to sell or donate. Im always selling a few items each week but its just not shifting fast enough, so the plan is to get as much listed as I can by xmas then donate the majority that doesn’t sell in the new year, as I need the space back and it really isnt worth my timed energy for a few £s
- Publish ally Gift Guides – This isnt really an aim as such as it has to be completed next week really! I have loads of great items to show you guys and cant wait to get them all written up and publish…they just take ages to do!
- Earn £200 from my side hustles to put towards personal debt
- Finish 2 new books! Just a personal goal for me there
So I think I shall leave it at that for now. Fingers crossed I can managed to complete or work on all of these goals at least
