Yay!! Its finally Christmas season which means xmas parties, work dos, family get togethers and New Years Eve celebrations! This also means the need for some lovely festive party outfits. Think red, green, gold, tartan, stars and lots of sparkles! Unless you opt for the good old tacky Christmas jumper, haha, in which case anything goes!
So are you in team relaxed or dressed up for Christmas Day? We like to lounge in the morning in our matching PJ’s but always get dressed up nice to go for dinner with my parents. I always love to find a festive dress I can wear for the big day, and this year I’ll be wearing the one in this post as I love it!
I’ve had such a great time working with Yours Clothing this year, and really love their clothing. You can see my previous Summer Dresses and Autumn Layering blog posts. So when they sent me a final challenge for the year, to chose some end of year party pieces I was more than happy to oblige. Ive styled up 2 outfits – 1 is a bit more dressy for a party and 1 is a little more relaxed for a dinner out, I hope you like them.
Just FYI I ordered the dress and blazer in a size 18 and the blouse in a size 16, and I am 5ft 9in so you can get a general idea of the lengths!
The clothing was gifted by Yours in exchange for this review, but all opinions are my own
The Party Dress
I totally fell for the little puff sleeves and the gorgeous colour on this shimmery green dress. It also comes in Blue, Purple and Silver but I thought the green was perfect for this festive season. Plus it was the perfect opportunity for me to wear my green glitter Dr Marten boots!! (Yes I love a chunky boot with a dress at this time of year, but it would look just as cute with some sparkly heels!)
I swapped out the fabric tie belt it came with and added my vintage beaded cincher belt instead, just to add even more sparkle. And I recently picked up this stunning sparkly resin star necklace from House Of Leopards during Bath Christmas Market and love how festive and fun it is.
The Lacey Blouse
If you’re looking for an item that isnt quite as snazzy but still smart and great for the festive season then this Green Lace Sleeve Blouse is beautiful! It’s a lovely silky material and a longer length to flatter your curves. The sleeves are a beautiful lace pattern so stand out from a plain blouse. I’ve paired it with my black jeans from Lands End and bright red patent shoes (years old from Faith!) but it would work great with some wet look, sparkly or leather look leggings too. I think these would be perfect for stepping up the glam factor.
The only down side is that the cuffs don’t have buttons and are quite small, so I did struggle to get it on and off over my hands.
The Sequinned Blazer
If you’re going from the office to a party then adding this super sparkly Beautiful Black Sequin Blazer would be a great way to dress up your outfit. It would be perfect to layer with any number of items to help add a little festive sparkle to your outfit. The fit is great, again it is a slightly longer length, it drapes lovely. It doesn’t have a fastening though so it is meant to stay undone.
I’ve already worn it paired with the black lace dress I wore in this post for a dinner with some friends and it looked lovely.
Yours have lots of other great party pieces to chose from, depending on what style you are going for and how dressed up you want to be. I also loved this sequinned wrap dress, and think this green tartan check dress is super cute.
