Today we are reviewing the Fiesta Crafts Magnetic Faces Activity Set. We enjoy finding educational toys for toddlers to help improve fine motor skills and develop toddlers speech and language skills. Recently we’ve been loving playing with this set.
For Elian’s 2nd birthday he was gifted the Fiesta Crafts Magnetic Faces Activity Set by Born Gifted. We hadn’t seen this set before but Elian had been playing with a magnetic dress up set in our playgroup and loved it so I really thought this would be something he enjoyed.
We are currently trying to diversify his toys to include more educational toys for toddlers and games that he can play both independently and with one of us. As with most toddlers he is very into character toys, he has plenty of Paw Patrol toys and Go Jetters toys, but I would love for him to have more wooden toys and toys that help his fine motor skills and his language skills to get him ready for when he starts school next year.
Whats included in the kit
- 78 Magnetic Pieces
- Reversible Magnetic White/Black Board Board
- Pack of Funny Face Cards to copy (Or make their own)
- White board marker and eraser
- 3 Chalks and eraser
- Wooden Travel Box
What we thought of the activity set
Elian is a little young to be able to follow the pre-designed cards at the moment, but he loved being able to stick all the face shapes to the board, and enjoy creating funny faces of his own. He also loved trying to match up the eyes, ears and eye brows to find the matching sets. We have been showing him how to follow the pre-designed cards and with help he is starting to understand it. I am sure soon he will be able to do them on his own.
We loved the reversible board. Elian liked using the chalk on the black board the most, but for older kids I think the white board marker would be great for more detailed drawing. Plus we have been using it to draw letters and words, and just let him enjoy colouring in on it too.
We also love that the set is portable (Extra points for easy tidying up and storage!!). It all packs into the travel case, which clips closed and has a neat little rope handle so it can be carried around, which Elian loved to do. We found it was great to take out to restaurants with us to keep Elian entertained and in the car if we were going on a longer journey.
What kids can learn from playing with Fiesta Crafts Magnetic Faces

- Matching Pairs
- Understanding Emotions

As you can see the kit can be used to develop lots of different skill areas in toddlers, and can be used in lots of different ways for imaginative play.
