Revolucion de Cuba Cardiff – New Menu Tasting and Cocktail Making Masterclass

revolucion de cuba cardiffWe are never ones to turn down some free food (and drinks) so were really pleased and honoured to be invited to a little blogger get together at Revolucion de Cuba Cardiff to test out their new 2016 menu and have a go at a bit of cocktail making (non-alcoholic for me of course!)

We had visited Revolucion de Cuba Cardiff once before for our South Wales Photographers Network Christmas Party but had only got to sample a small selection of their dishes as part of a buffet. What we did try then was all really tasty, plus Jon had a cocktail and me a mocktail on this occasion and we were both pretty impressed with how nice they both were. We also both loved the relaxed and spacious decor (thats the design geeks in us coming out!) At the time there was also a Cuba Salsa band playing which was great to add to the fun evening atmosphere, but we wondered what it would be like at lunch times as it seemed like a great location for us to hold wedding consultations and meetings for our business.

So although the blogger meet was to test out some of the new menu it was also a great chance for us to scope out the location for future meetings!Revolucion de cuba cardiffSo here is the little gang of bloggers and writers who were invited to Revolution de Cuba Cardiff for some super tasty food and drinks! It was lovely to get to meet some new (to us) bloggers and to put some faces to FB and twitter profiles! Wow247 Cardiff, Miss Nicklin, Explore with Ed, The Rare Welsh Bit.

2016-02-28_0004First up we tried a selection of the tapas dishes – The Pork Quesadilla and the butternut squash were my favourites!

  • Glazed Chicken with Romesco
  • Pork and Chorizo Quesadilla
  • Sardines
  • Roasted Butternut Squash
  • Nachos Del sol
  • Cauliflower Wings

  • Chargrilled Chicken Skewer
  • Chicken Salad
  • Whole Flash-Fried Bream
  • Marinated Cauliflower Steak
  • Beef Brisket and Jalapeno Burger
  • Pork and Chorizo Burger

All the food was really great quality and super tasty (although we were convinced by the Cauliflower Steak, lol!) and we will definitely be going again for a proper meal.

After all the tasty food we got to have a go at making some cocktails ourselves. Jon made a Rumble Punch which included Sailor Jerry, Caramel, Lime & Pineapple. And I made a lovely Apple and Raspberry non-alcoholic Mojito.
