Oh I do love my Degustabox deliveries! They bring a little excitement to my day when I get that text saying I have a delivery due, and I intentionally don’t read the emails telling me what is coming in the box as I like the surprise when I open it (like a child at christmas really!). Septembers box was mostly about treats, which of course made both me and Jon very very happy! But it also made me have to think hard about what recipe I could make using something from the box. I eventually came up with a seriously tasty tea loaf recipe using Sweet Sally Tea, which turned out great and you can find the recipe at the end of this post.
Here’s what we received in this month box and what we thought of it all
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – Nom Nom Nom!! We love the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups so these were our treat whilst busy working to finish a wedding edit late into the night one day this week. Yes they are a bit rich so I can’t eat all 3 in 1 go (Jon can!) but they are really tasty if eaten in moderation.
- Mallow & Marsh – OMG these raspberry marshmallows were so yummy! I had heard of the brand but hadn’t yet gotten to try them for myself. Now I just want to taste other flavours as there were delicious. A lot denser than the cheap pink and white mallows you buy, but they had so much more flavour, you could tell they were fresh handmade ones, not factory produced. Huge thumbs up for these, probably one of my favourite discoveries out of all the Degustabox products we have tasted.
- Maynards Red and Black Wine Gums – Who wouldn’t love these, aren’t the black and red ones everyones favourites! These are pretty self explanatory and obviously tasted just like the regular bags of wine gums. We enjoyed these whilst watching a film last week, the bag didn’t last long with the 2 of us.
- Bassets Beryy Mix Jelly Babies – Now I’m not usually a jelly babies fan, but just having the berry flavours was a lot nicer, we had these whilst watching Doctor Who last week, and although Jon ate the majority of the pack as he likes Jelly babies I still ate quite a few of them and really enjoyed them. It is just the purple, red and pink ones from the normal pack.
- Kent’s Kitchen Spicy Szechuan Posh Noodles – Sadly these haven’t been eaten due to the spicy szechuan flavour, but I’m sure Jon might try them at some point
- The Olive Shop Extra Virgin Olive Oil – I like to use a good Olive Oil when I cook so was happy to see this in the box, as I’m always trying out new ones. I was really happy with it when I was cooking, it didn’t burn off quickly like some cheaper ones and the taste of it was really nice. I’m going to try making a salad dressing with it too soon.
- The Good Cider Company Craft Cider – I haven’t had a chance to try these yet, but me and Jon both like a fruit cider so hopefully will enjoy these, if I don’t use them in my cooking like I did a few weeks ago.
- Up & Go Breakfast Drink – Again these aren’t something I would drink as I don’t like milk based drinks but Jon does. These are a lot like the Weetabix ones in last months box really, so he enjoyed them just as much.
- Complete Energy Bites – Sadly these were the least enjoyed item in the box, I won’t even touch them to be honest, but Jon tried one and just didn’t like them, so they ended up in the bin!
- Sweet Sally Tea – Well I love Iced Tea so originally planned to just have this over ice, but changed my mind when I read that it was a spiced version (you might be able to tell by now I don’t really do spiced items) luckily I had a better idea for it. See below for the awesome Tea Loaf Recipe I made!
Tea Loaf Recipe made with Sweet Sally Spiced Tea

Instructions
- Place the dried fruit in a bowl and pour over the entire bottle of Tea, place in the fridge to soak overnight or for at least 4 hours

- In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, eggs and marmalade
- Add the fruit and all the remaining tea and mix well
- Pour the mixture into your baking tin and pop in the centre of the oven
