I am kicking off this years Christmas gift guides with a themed guide specifically for any space loving people. This is one of Elian’s current obsessions so it only seemed right that I find some fun and different gifts with a space theme. I know lots of kids go through a space phase so I thought it might well be something lots of other parents are on the look out for. And I have been lucky enough to come across some brilliant space themed gifts that are suitable for all ages, its not just kids who love space!
Here are a few Space themed gift ideas to get you started
This guide contains items I have been gifted for inclusion but all opinions are my own. Some links are also affiliate links meaning I earn commission on any sales but this does not effect the cost to you. Read more here
First up, let’s add a little fun to your home decor. This Rocket Lamp would be the perfect addition to a kids bedroom or playroom. (Elian has already added it to his bunk bed shelf!) The warm white LEDs add a lovely soft glow without being too bright. And it even has a 6 hour timer setting, so it really does make the perfect nightlight for your little ones bedroom. Plus its battery operated so could be popped on a shelf or hung on a wall, and no pesky cables dangling down.
Ohhh now the next items are from an awesome little company called Science Socks that recently got in touch with me. And they have the perfect science and space based gifts for your seriously geeky friends. The socks I received are the Perseverance Rover Landing Anniversary Socks, featuring graphics of the major features of the MARS 2020 landing…I mean how cool is that! And they have lots of other space themed socks.
And I was also lucky enough to be sent the James Webb Telescope Christmas ornament and earrings (Who said girls cant love space too!) They are both laser-cut from gold mirrored acrylic and come gift boxed ready to be gifted! Such beautiful items for a special someone this Christmas.
As a child my dad had an Aladdin Genie morph mug that I was obsessed with. So I am loving seeing these morph mugs making a return. This one from Kikkerland reveals an awesome space themed artwork when hot liquid is added to the mug. Seeing the stars, cosmos, rocket and space station appear right before your eyes is pretty cool. I think this would be a great gift for a teen who is into space but also wants a cool gift!
This Baff Bombz Solar System set contains 9 different coloured bath bombs to represent all the planets in the solar system and the sun! And its not just fun for the bath, each bath bomb correlates to a planetary fact card which gives you lots of info about the planet, so its educational too. Any space loving kids is gonna love watching these fizz in their bath and change the colour of the water, they can set off on a space adventure of their own
Elian has only recently started getting interested in Jigsaws, it was actually after being sent another space jigsaw puzzle. So I am pretty sure he is going to love this Moonwalk Motion Puzzle from Kikkerland. It has a moving picture on the front, in this case of a moon walk, then the jigsaw shows the moment of motion. It looks totally out of this world and lots of fun!
If you have a space loving little one who is also a little bit creative then this Colour In Space Explorer Placemat To Go or the Space Explorer Pencil Case from Eat Sleep Doodle would be a great gift for them. The pencil case and placemat are covered on one side with a picture of astronauts and on the other side with the solar system. They both come with a colourful set of fabric pens to allow your little ones to get creative, and the placemat comes with its own little bag so you can take it with you. Once they are bored of the colouring they have done just give it a wash and start again. Hours of creative fun!
One of the first things that come to mind when you think about space are astronauts and Nasa! Nasa really are the golden boys when it comes to space travel. So having a Nasa Backpack is gonna be high on the list of must have items for any true budding space fan of future astronaut. This one would make a great backpack for a teenager for school as it features extra internal pockets for things like books and a laptop.
And sticking with the Nasa Theme how about a rather awesome Fisher Space pen to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11th space landing! This pen is amazing! It can write at any angle and under and under extreme conditions, even on wet paper and even though its compact it will last 3 times longer than a standard ball point pen! This is one for proper Space fans!
Usborne has a great range of space books for kids of all ages. We are already massive fans of these books, and Elian has a whole collection of their space books (Amongst other books of theirs). They are really informative books, beautifully illustrated and usually interactive with flaps or cut out sections, so they tend to keep childrens interest a little better than plain non fiction books. You can check out all the space themed books they have here,
So there you have our space themed gift guide. There are so many things that you can get for space fan in your life and I hope this has given you a little bit of inspiration. Happy Christmas shopping!
