Last week I was invited to visit the Swatch Store in Cardiff and see their new Fall collections, as well as the other watches they have on offer. Now, in all honesty I have never really thought of getting a Swatch watch, the bright colours weren’t really my thing (even though I wore a postbox red watch for years!), meaning after living in Cardiff for 7 years I had never been in this store. So I thought this would be a good opportunity to finally see them all for myself. And I was really surprised.
The watches above were what I thought of when I thought of Swatch watches, lots of wacky prints and bright plastic straps, which I didn’t think I would like but I kinda fell a little bit for the daisy print (obviously!) as well as a few others. But the real winners for me are the 2 below. I have totally fallen for the denim blue (called Dive-In) and rose gold (Hello Darling) ultra thin watches below. They are so insanely thin and light, I could barely feel it on my wrist, I would love either of these watches. And the price point is really good too, around £70. And its not all fun and whacky, like I thought, they have some really great traditional style watches. I love the rose gold in the centre (again) and also the silver coloured one in the bottom right box in the pictures.I also love the white one with the coloured face (Chromograph), fun without being too in your face, and the navy blue and white polka dot (For the Love of K), it is really quite chic! I can really see these are more ‘fashion’ pieces, than high end jewellery (which I consider my current Vivienne Westwood Watch) which is great as it allows you to play around with your watch some more and really have fun. You could have a few fun ones and then just match them to your outfit. The most impressive watches to be added to the Fall collection is the System 51 range, pictured right above. (Picture shows the back of watch 1 and 3 and front of 2 and 4) These are their first completely mechanical range, and they look so cool! I also didn’t realise they made jewellery, which was all really cute and made of stainless steel.
So there you go, my opinion of Swatch has been changed, and now I want a new watch! Thank you Swatch for inviting me to visit the store and preview the new collection, I’m a convert!
ooh! they have some fab designs, i love how fun they are! Really like the gold one with the blue face – so pretty! xo
There were quite a few I fancied by the end!
Swatch is more popular in Europe tahn in the UK, however the designs you shown are really nice. Like you I didn’t know they did jewellery as well.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised!
Wow, I had no idea there were so many designs! I’m in love with the Sistem51 range. Wonderful!
It’s been years since I wore a watch. Like you, I’m not really into typical coloured swatch watches but I do like the traditional ones in either gold or silver.
Oooh I love the Denim blue one! I have the mint and white one from the candy collection but don’t really wear it, I have to say though that the denim and that black one are both calling my name 🙂 Great blog also lovely, glad to have found you!
Hugs,
Elyse x
That denim is calling mine too! Its so chic!
I wanted all of them! A super slim one is on my wishlist x
