Its Degustabox time! As you all know I love snail mail, and I love snail mail that involves surprises and food delivered to my door even more, so Degustabox is always one of my favourite deliveries each month.
If you don’t know what Degustabox is, it is a monthly food and drink subscription box, which usually contains a mixture of savoury and sweet products as well as drinks (you can choose to include alcohol or not). The items tend to be from new brands to the UK, complete new brands, new lines from existing brands or just items brands want to promote.
Here is my little unboxing video and I do taste test a few items so you guys can see my immediate reaction to them.
If you fancy testing out Degustabox for yourself, just click the link here and use the code 65K3Q to get your first box for just £7.99!
Here is what we got in the box and what we thought of them:
- A2 Milk – £1.50 – This is a semi-skimmed cows milk that is easier to digest, so gentle on sensitive tummies. It tastes the same as normal milk and Elian was quite happy drinking it.
- Mutti Finely Chopped Tomatoes – £1.00 – I added these to a pasta bake this week and they made the sauce super tasty and flavourful. The tomato is so finely diced that it is almost a passatta.
- Nuttvia Hazelnut Spread – Well this has gone down very well! We have been eating it on toast and bagels for the last week and it is delicious. Its a little less sweet than the likes of Nutella and have a stronger nutty taste which I love. I will now be looking for this as an alternative in the future
- Happy Down Cocktail – This was a Lychee, Guava and Chilli alcoholic cocktail in a can, and I have to be honest I didn’t try it, me and Jon don’t really drink and I can’t eat chilli. I am sure it is very good if your into cocktails but it wasn’t our thing
- Milkybar Wowsome Bars – 55p – Well I let Elian have these (I did steal a little bite of each of them…just to review them though!) and they were tasty, a bit more substantial taste wise than a regular Milkybar, they have a crisp cereal centre that adds a nice little bite.
- Mutti Passata – £1.40 – I have used this in a Bolognese and it really packs a tomato flavour which made the dish really tasty. It is thick and lacks water which you sometimes notice with cheaper passata sauces, so the tomato flavour is definitely stronger.
- Haribo Giant Strawberries – £1.29 – Who doesn’t love giant strawberry sweets! They have to be a classic sweet by now. I have been a big fan for a while so know these well. I even let Elian have one of these, he doesn’t usually have sweets at all so was a little confused by it to start with but love it!
- Mindful Bites Squeeze Sachets – £1.49 – These are small little nut butter sachets that are great for a snack on the go or to make lunch or snacks when you are out of the house. They have a mixture of flavours and nut combinations which we found really taste and fun.
- Trek Protein Energy Chunks – £1.15 – Well I love all the new protein type products that are coming out and I love testing them out in the Degustabox’s. I knew of the Trek brand but hadnt tried out the protein range. These were really tasty, just the right amount of sweetness to curb a craving but without the high sugar level
- Juicy Fuel Cola – £2 – I’m always skeptical of any drink trying to be a cola, but the cherry one of these was actually really delicious. I drank it over ice and it was really nice. They are carbonated but not overly fizzy, and are made wth no sugar or artificial sweeteners and are one of your 5 a day…thats crazy! And awesome!!
- Idahoan’s Perfect Mash Roasted Garlic – £1.50 – I loved the idea of this and couldn’t wait to try it. We used to use instant mash a lot living in Cardiff as it was quick and easy when we were working lots but I haven’t used one in ages. We really enjoyed this and loved that it had a roasted garlic taste
- The Food Doctor Protein Mix and Edamame Mix – £1 – These are a typical nut/seed type mixture that are great for snacking on the go. I enjoyed both of them when I was out and about with Elian
- LioBites Strawberry and Banana Smoothie Bites – £2.35 – These were really tasty and sweet with a strong strawberry flavour rather than banana. These were much harder than other smoothie bites we have tried in the past, they are much crunchier, but I really enjoyed them and so did Elian.
- Nick’s Kexbar – £1.20 – I can’t really think how to explain this as I can’t think of a bar to compare it to, its a chocolate wafer with vanilla cream covered in milk chocolate. It was tasty but my only complaint would be that it was also super crumbly and difficult to eat.
