Fanta Chicken is a tangy, fruity, sweet and sour style fakeaway chicken recipe that is perfect for all the family. Its like a naughty little take away dish, but its syn free and packed with lots of speed foods! Plus its a one pan dish that is simple to make if your looking for an easy recipe

Instructions
 

  • Spray a large deep frying pan with your spray oil and place on a medium/high heat. Add your onions (or leeks) and cook until starting to soften and brown
  • Add the chicken to the pan and brown all over
  • Next add the peppers and allow them to start to softening
  • Pour in the can of Fanta, tinned tomatoes, white wine vinegar, green beans and crumble in the stock cube, mix it all together well and allow it to come to the boil
  • Then lower the heat to a simmer for 25 minutes. Stir occasionally so it doesn't catch. You want the liquid to reduce into a thick and almost sticky sauce. It will happen it sometimes just takes a little extra time
  • Add the pineapple and stir it through the dish for a minute or 2
  • Serve with your choice of sides - Rice, Slimming World Chips, Jacket Potato
  • And Enjoy!

Notes

You can give this recipe a bit of a spicy kick by adding 1tsp of dried chilli flakes when you add the tomato puree
