Sticky Orange Chicken Recipe

Tender Chicken coated in a sweet and sticky orange sauce, a perfect healthy alternative to your favourite Chinese take away dish. Low in fat and salt and high in protein this is a great dish for all the family

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g Chicken Breast Fillets
  • 1 tbsp Rapeseed Oil
  • 1 Red Onion chopped
  • 1 Red Pepper chopped
  • 3 Spring Onions Sliced
  • Pack of Egg Noddles
  • 1 tsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 100 ml Orange Juice
  • 2 tsp Plum Sauce
  • 1 tsp Red Wine Vinegar
  • Salt and Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Spray a large non stick frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and place over a high heat, add you chicken fillets and cook for 12-15 minutes until cooked through
  • Once cooked set aside on a plate to rest, before cutting into strips
  • In a bowl mix together the Dark Soy, Orange Juice, Plum Sauce and Red Wine Vinegar to create your sauce
  • Spray more low calorie spray into your pan and place over a high heat, add you onion and peppers and cook for 5 minutes until softened
  • Return your chicken to the pan and add your sauce, mix well to coat and allow to cook for a few minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened, spoon over your chicken as its cooking.
  • Cook your noodles according to the packet
  • Once your noodles are done and the sauce has thickened (10 minutes or so) top your noddles with the chicken and sauce and enjoy
