Slow Cooked Ham in Newton’s Appl Fizzics Recipe

A tasty fall apart ham, slow cooked in Newton's Appl Fizzics, glazed with soy and honey. Perfect for a Sunday Lunch or great as a sandwich filler

Ingredients
  

  • Ham Joint size dependant on how many you wish to feed
  • 1 Bottle of Newton's Appl Fizzics
  • 3 shallots - finely diced
  • 3 tbsp Runny Honey
  • 3 tbsp Dark Soy
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Place ham in slow cooker with bottle of Newton's Appl Fizzics and the diced shallots, for 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low, the meat should be easy to pull apart when cooked.
  • Move the ham into a shallow baking dish cover with foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes
  • While the ham is resting preheat oven to 180
  • In a small bowl or ramekin mix together the Honey, Soy and Olive Oil till combined
  • Remove foil from ham and pour glaze over the meat, use a basting brush to coat ham in glaze completely. Recover with foil and bake in the oven for 15 minutes
  • Remove from oven, remove foil and bast again with glaze from pan, return to oven without the foil for a further 15 minutes. Keep an eye incase glaze starts to burn, lower temperature if needed.
  • After 15 minutes remove from oven, slice and serve with potatoes and green veg OR slice and allow to cool completely and serve in crusty rolls with salad for a great lunch time treat.
