Slow Cooked Ham in Newton’s Appl Fizzics Recipe

A tasty fall apart ham, slow cooked in Newton's Appl Fizzics, glazed with soy and honey. Perfect for a Sunday Lunch or great as a sandwich filler

Ingredients
  

  • Ham Joint size dependant on how many you wish to feed
  • 1 Bottle of Newton's Appl Fizzics
  • 3 shallots - finely diced
  • 3 tbsp Runny Honey
  • 3 tbsp Dark Soy
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Method
 

  1. Place ham in slow cooker with bottle of Newton's Appl Fizzics and the diced shallots, for 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low, the meat should be easy to pull apart when cooked.
  2. Move the ham into a shallow baking dish cover with foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes
  3. While the ham is resting preheat oven to 180
  4. In a small bowl or ramekin mix together the Honey, Soy and Olive Oil till combined
  5. Remove foil from ham and pour glaze over the meat, use a basting brush to coat ham in glaze completely. Recover with foil and bake in the oven for 15 minutes
  6. Remove from oven, remove foil and bast again with glaze from pan, return to oven without the foil for a further 15 minutes. Keep an eye incase glaze starts to burn, lower temperature if needed.
  7. After 15 minutes remove from oven, slice and serve with potatoes and green veg OR slice and allow to cool completely and serve in crusty rolls with salad for a great lunch time treat.
