Ive been meaning to share some photos from our little trip to the Forest of Dean from last autumn for a while. We took a little stroll along the Sculpture Trail one afternoon, specifically because I wanted to see a sculpture called Cathedral, and I knew the setting and wonderful afternoon light would be perfect for a little shoot in Elian’s new Rainbow Romper from handmade kids clothing UK brand What Jade Made…who you know were big fans of in the Two Hearts household!
The Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail
When I was researching places to visit when we took our trip to the Forest of Dean I started seeing lots of photos of a beautiful stained glass window hanging in the woods, which I had previously seen in wedding photos from a fellow wedding photographer. I hadn’t heard of the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail before but knew as we were pretty close by, as long as the weather was good I really wanted to visit it.
This particular sculpture is called Cathedral by Kevin Atherton and is one of 16 sculptures that currently reside in the woods around Beechenhurst. The full Sculpture Trail is 4.5 miles long (Cathedral is sculpture 15 of 16 on the route) but can be explored in smaller sections from a number of different car parks and along different routes.
