8 Unique Tips For Keeping Cool In Hot Weather

Warm weather is great, but there’s only so much warmth that anyone is okay with, especially when it’s time to sleep. Taking a nap or sleeping at night may become problematic in warm weather. Thanks to modern technologies, you can quickly cool down. But that increases your energy bills. How about creative ways to sleep better in warm weather without spiking costs?

Freeze Your Pillows

You can cool your bed by simply freezing your pillows. Take advantage of your running freezer to keep your mattress cool before sleeping. Leave your pillows in the freezer for a few hours before bed, and arrange them around your head when it’s time to sleep. It will keep you cool for nearly an hour, giving you enough time to fall asleep.

Create A Cross-Breeze Effect

Use two fans to create a cross-breeze effect by placing them at opposite ends of your room or close to your bed. Ensure that each of the fans blows cool air crosswise. This method cools your room faster, allowing you to fall asleep despite the heat. You can turn off one of the fans just before you sleep to save costs.

Bedroom Design - Stain CoolUse Small Beds

Custom-size mattresses take up less space, improving airflow in your bedroom. Place your bed close to the window but ensure it doesn’t obstruct airflow. You can check out Odd Size Beds for mattresses that improve cooling. You will also be able to find divan beds here, which could help you find what you’re looking for.

Use Small Bedside Fans

Small bedside fans provide cooling directly to your face as you sleep. They are small, battery-powered, and powerful. With a small bedside fan, you can sleep better while saving energy costs. Of course, they are not effective for cooling the entire room, but if you’re on a budget, they’ll help you well.

Use Thermal Curtains

You could also use thermal curtains during the day to keep the heat out and preserve some cooling in your room. A black curtain works just as fine. If you succeed in trapping and off cool air within the room, you may want to keep the thermal curtains down at night to prevent warm air from getting in.

Staying cool tips and tricksEat Less Before Bed But Stay Hydrated

Certain foods, such as fats, may take longer to break down, causing your body to use more energy for digestion. Eating less before sleep is wise because the more energy your body uses, the more sweat it produces. Hydration is key to sleeping well. When you stay hydrated, your body tries to maintain a stable internal temperature to prevent sweating.

Turn Off Electronics Before You Sleep

Electronic gadgets such as computers and televisions produce heat that may be insignificant in cold weather but terrible in warm weather. Turn off electronics before you sleep or keep them in other rooms. You’ll also reduce screen lights, a known factor for difficult sleep.

Use Cooling Blankets And Beddings

Thanks to modern technology, cooling blankets and bedding have lower temperatures so that you can sleep well. Cooling blankets use battery-powered air circulation technology that supplies cool air around the body as you sleep.
