As I have recently published my December Review post which includes the posts you might have missed during the month, I thought it might be good to look back and see what my most popular posts have been from last year. The most popular post on my blog is always one of my slimming world recipes, usually the Mushy Pea Curry or this year the Fanta Chicken recipe has been really popular, but here are the top 10 posts for the ones published during 2021…in no particular order!
Slow Cooker Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe
This is an oldie but a goodie, I originally published on my Hubpages account about 8 years ago, but only brought a version over to the blog this year! It is super simple to make delicious fudge in the slow cooker and we have made a whole host of different versions and flavours over the year…now its got me thinking about fudge…hmm I have xmas chocolate that probably needs using, haha!
Easter Sensory Tray Using Dyed Rice
I loved sensory set ups with Elian, and Effie is finally at a stage where she is starting to enjoy them too. Dyeing rice is so easy if you do it the cheats way (you’ll see it in the post!) and it is one of the most versatile bases for sensory play, I have used it in so many ways and the kids always love it!
An Evening at West Midlands Safari Park Lantern Festival
We love a good lantern festival, but this was our first time visiting West Midlands to experience theirs. And what a lovely evening it was. The lights were beautiful and it was fun getting to walk through the land of the dinosaurs at night, although Effie really want sure about it all to start with. We will definitely be booking it again for this year coming. The safari park itself wasn’t open in the night, but we have been there also and would totally recommend it if your little ones like animals
Awesome Gift Ideas for Dinosaur Loving Kids
This was actually a collaborative post with Wicked Uncle, but seems to be really popular, especially on the lead up to christmas. I suppose most kids seem to go through a dino phase at some point, and my guide has great gift ideas for all ages, from jigsaws and craft sets, to games, torches, bedroom decor and everything in between. If you’ve a little palaeontologist in the making it really is worth checking out.
The Best Soft Dolls for Babies – Haba Snug-Up Dolls
Aww Effie really loves her Haba Dolls still! They are so soft and light weight they were a great first doll when she was much smaller. They have been well loved, and washed a number of times, lol! Luckily they come up great in the washing machine! Plus the photos in this post are just too cute!
Dressing Elian and Effie with Frugi Snuggle Suits
We were already big Frugi fans even before they asked to work with us on a matching outfit post. But I honestly truly love these snuggle suits and I swear they have been the most used and versatile item in the kids wardrobe all autumn and winter. I use it to pop Effie in the car over her babygrow on the school run some mornings, as its cozy without being bulky in her seat, and Elian has been using it after swimming as its easy to just zip it up and get out the door back to the car, so practical! Plus they are so cool with the rainbow space pattern we chose
Making Christmas Gifts with the Cricut Joy
Another collaboration that I was so excited about this year with the team over at Cricut! I love crafting but don’t get a lot of time to do it, so when they got in touch I jumped at the chance to work with them and test out the new more compact Cricut Joy machine. Had so much fun playing around with it and eventually made Elians teacher a really cool xmas gift!
Golden Light in a Wildflower Field – Dressing Effie!
Ahh these photos of the kids from our holiday in West Wales were one of my summer time favourites. Being photographers means we value photos and how they allow us to really capture memories so much. I adored these shots Jon managed to get, just so pretty and perfect for remembering our little family real, Effies first holiday!
Pumpkin Picking at Gower Fresh Christmas Tree Farm
This seems to have become a tradition for all parents now, thanks to pumpkin patches popping up all over the UK during October and November. Its the perfect non-scary halloween outing all the family can enjoy. We weren’t able to do it in 2020 (thanks Covid!) so this again was Effies first time…it was grey and muddy but lots of fun and of course the photos we caught are just super cute!
Slimming World Creamy Chicken and Chickpeas Recipe
Slimming World recipes are always a big hit, and this was a new one I worked on whilst I was on Slimming world over the summer. SW isnt for everyone, but the recipes are tasty even if you aren’t planning to go on a diet or trying to lose weight, so they are worth checking out. Diet Coke chicken is one of our family favs all year round.
