Keen Summer Sandals for the Kids

After the huge success of the kids winter shoes from Keen we were super pleased to be asked to work with the brand again this summer to test out some of their new Kids Sandals. Elian chose to have the Rainbow Coloured Newport Sandal and Effie went for the Purple Camo Seacamp Sandal.

As my kids are both keen explorers, loving nothing more than climbing on things, playing in the woods, wading in the river, walking through mud and running around the garden, having a sturdy pair of sandals is important. And Keens sandals are light weight, flexible, machine washable and super comfy.

Kids Keen Sandals

Whenever we head out, we usually let them pick their own footwear (in Effies case we generally have no choice but to let her chose her own) and without fail, they both opt for their Keen shoes. They know they are comfortable, they can put them on by themselves, and they both know I don’t mind if they get them dirty and wet. They really are perfect for lots of outdoor adventures.

Keeping them clean 

Made from lightweight durable KEEN.FUSION Rubber and quick drying polyester webbing uppers these sandals are machine washable, so they can get them muddy, throw them in the machine and have them clean and ready to wear again the next day! Perfect if you have kids who seem compelled to walk through every bit of mud in sight.

Perfect for independent kids

They fasten with velcro straps and an adjustable bungee cord system meaning kids can get them on and off easily. Plus they can easily be adjusted for narrower or wider feet giving an instantly secure fit. Plus we have found they even last a bit longer due to the adjustable straps.

Durable for active kids

Keen shoes have a special rubber toe bumper to stop the wear and tear on the front of shoes that kids usually seem to manage. Plus the rubber soles have great grippy treads for those active kids, but the soles are still pretty flexible and lightweight making them easy to wear for little ones

Bright and Colourful 

Elian, loves bright colours and bold patterns, which as he gets older are unfortunately less commonly found in boys’ shoes. So he was mega pleased to see the purple sandals with rainbow straps available in his size. And they have a whole host of other bright colours and patterns for all ages.

Available in a range of styles and sizes

Keen sandals come in a range of different styles, depending on what you and your kids like.  Some have less straps so are a more traditional open sandal while others have closed toes but wider openings at the sides. We also loved the Knotch Creek Open Toes Sandal for Effie. Plus they stock shoes from toddler sizes up to age 6 in the kids range.
