Opie has been a spoilt little pooch once again recently, even he starts getting excited now when he sees boxes arriving from the postman as he’s learnt they often contain treats for him. And at the moment as he is still in puppy phase and frequently destroying his toys, these surprises boxes are great as he is getting to try out lots of different types and brands of toys to see which he likes and which can withstand his boisterous play.
So this is box 3 we have got to try from Barkbeats, and he loves these boxes as they contain a mixture of play things and edible treats, many of which I have never heard of before, so its introducing me to lots of new brands. You’ll find links to our first 2 box reviews at the end of this post if you would like to check them out too.So here is what Opie received in box number 3!
- Tyre Toy – Opie loves anything he can chew and carry around with him, so this one has been a big hit, although the rope part was promptly shredded and removed within an hour. But the Tyre is still a firm favourite a few weeks after receiving the box, and he will often pull it our of his basket to sit and chew on as it is nice and firm and doesn’t seem to be getting damaged.
- Rosewood Canvas Cuddlies – This was the first item out of the box, as Opie loves soft toys. Sadly due to his destructive nature it didn’t last long, but he had a good 2-3 hours of constant fun out of it before destroying it by removing a leg and then the stuffing! Naughty Puppy!! So if you have a destructive dog like us it’s not the best idea, but if yours plays a bit more nicely then this is a lovely soft toy, nice and light for them to carry around.
- Barks and Sparks – This is Dog Ice-cream which you make up yourself, and Ill be honest yet again I haven’t actually made this up, although it sounds pretty simple to do and Im sure Opie will like it as he loves to like the last of the ice-cream off our magnum sticks!
- Tomato Bites – These are natural treats, with a tomato flavour. At first Opie wasn’t so sure on them and rolled the first few around the kitchen with his nose, sniffing and licking the flavour off them. But once he actually bit into them he really liked them. They are crunchy and dry, rather than chewy, which he liked lots. And he was happy to come back and ask for another treat when he had eaten the first few. We have given him a few each day after his walk as a good boy treat and he loved them.
- A Puppy Lollipop – Now I can’t remember the brand on this, but Opie thought it was great and would have eaten the whole thing in one go if I had let him, but I broke it into quarters and he had them over 2 days instead. This didn’t smell strongly of anything (which is greta in my books!) but he crunched it up quickly and really seemed to enjoy it, coming back for more.
So that was our 3rd Barkbeats box and as you can see it was yet again a big hit with the little man. If you fancy getting a box for your pooch too then why not take advantage of my reader offer and get £5 off your first box with the code ‘ROOF5’!
