Ensuring Your Dog Is Taken Care Of While You’re Out Of Town

May 31, 2022 Chantele Leave a comment

Leaving your dog behind when you go on vacation can be a difficult decision. Naturally, you want to make sure that they are taken care of, but you also don’t want to have to worry about them the entire time you’re gone. Luckily, there are some things you can do to ensure that your dog is well taken care of while you’re away. The following blog will discuss making sure your dog is comfortable while you’re gone.

1) Ensure Someone Is There To Take Care Of Them

This is probably the most important thing you can do. You need to make sure that someone is available to take care of your dog while you’re gone. This means feeding them, walking them, and giving them any medication they may need. If you have a friend or family member who can do this for you, that’s great. If not, professional dog sitters can take care of your dog while you’re away.

When choosing someone to take care of your dog, it’s essential to choose someone who your dog is comfortable with. This will help reduce their anxiety while you’re gone. It’s also necessary to make sure that the person you choose is reliable and will actually do what you’ve asked them to do.

Once you’ve found someone to take care of your dog, give them all the information they need. This includes your contact information, the contact information for your vet, and any instructions you have for taking care of your dog.

2) Dog Boarding

Another option for taking care of your dog while you’re out of town is to board them. This is a good option if you’re going to be gone for an extended period or if you’re worried about leaving your dog with someone. When boarding your dog, they will stay in a kennel at a facility. Most facilities will also provide food and water, but you may want to bring your own just in case.

When choosing a boarding facility, it’s essential to ensure that it’s clean and well-maintained. You also want to make sure that the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s also a good idea to visit the facility before you leave so that your dog can get used to it.

Once you’ve chosen a dog boarding facility, make sure to drop off your dog a few days before you leave so that they can get used to the kennel. You should also bring along their favorite toy or blanket to have something familiar to them.

3) Doggy Day Care

If you’re only going to be gone for a day or two, doggy daycare may be a good option. This is a service where your dog will be taken care of during the day while you’re gone. They will usually be taken on walks, given food and water, and played with.

In conclusion, there are a few different options for taking care of your dog while you’re out of town. The most important thing is to make sure that someone is available to care for them. You can also board them or take them to doggy daycare. Whichever option you choose, give your dog plenty of love when you get back! They’ll be happy to see you and will have missed you while you were gone.
