Surprisingly once you’ve had your baby your body doesn’t just spring back to it’s pre-baby size and shape, even though you would really like it to. So that means that most of your pre-baby wardrobe still doesn’t fit you, or at least thats my case. Almost none of my ‘old’ clothes fit me, and I really don’t want to keep wearing my very tiny maternity wardrobe all the time, but I need clothing that will fit over my deflated baby bump (and in some cases your larger boobs) and also in my case that aren’t tightly fitted across my c-section scar which still hasn’t completely healed. So as much as I love my fit and flare dresses most are too tight, or just not flattering on my tummy at the moment, meaning I’ve found a new love for tunic dresses, like this stunner from Yumi.
Tunic style dresses (or some A-line dresses) are perfect for your post pregnancy body as they tend to gently skirt over your tummy area (they work even better if sized up like I did) meaning you don’t end up looking like your still pregnant (albeit only 3-4 months!) or feeling uncomfortable because your midriff is too tight yet the rest of your body seems to still fit! Tunic dresses mean you still look feminine and often pretty cute, especially if you can find one with a fun eye catching design.Outfit:

Yumi produce a ton of stunning tunic and a-line dresses with beautiful bold prints that will add a pop to any outfit. They are great to wear on their own, with tights or leggings and even over jeans if you want a more casual dressed down look. Plus they usually have something for every season, thicker sleeves for the cold and sheer or no sleeves for the summer. I love the 4 styles above that can all be found at House of Fraser.
