Baby Led Weaning with Onco Baby Bamboo Bowl and Spoon Set

Baby Led Weaning with Onco Baby Bamboo Bowl and Spoon SetElian is an absolute pro when it comes to eating, this boys simply loves his food! We are strict Baby Led Weaning followers as you will have seen in our last post about the subject so have never given Elian a puree, baby food pouch, jar or anything like that, we simply dived straight in with solid food from the day he was 6 months (or 5 days before actually!) and he loved it! This means he has been feeding himself with his hands for the past 8 months though and it’s about time we started using cutlery so mummy has less mess to clean up (hopefully!!).

Baby Led Weaning with Onco Baby Bamboo Bowl and Spoon Set We’ve been giving him a spoon for a few months now but he usually just plays with it, more recently he has started to try and feed himself more with it. When he is having cereal for breakfast we now use his Onco Baby Bamboo Bowl and Spoon set to help encourage him to fed himself. Granted it doesn’t always work and quite often his hands still end up in his weetabix (and boy is that fun to clean up!) or he uses the spoon to get it out of the bowl and then his hand takes it off the spoon to his mouth!! But we are definitely making progress.

The big test for me for this bowl was actually the suction pad on the bottom. We have had a string of other suction based bowls over the last 8 months and guess how many have actually suctioned and stayed attached to his highchair tray for long than 5 minutes…zero! He either ends up being to vigorous with the spoon and pushing so hard as he tries to scoop that he pushes them over, or he gets bored and just pulls them off and tips them up. But this little bowl is blinking magic, he couldn’t budge it (heck I couldn’t budge it! There is a sneaky little lever to get it unstuck!) and it stayed exactly where I stuck it for the entire meal! Whoop! You can remove the suction base completely mind you so the bowl will be used well after dude leaves his highchair I hope.

Plus I think this bowl and spoon are pretty stylish as far as kids items go! I love the look of them, almost Scandi/mid-century feel to them, much nicer than most of the plastic kitchen wear I have for him! So it’s a big thumbs up from us and I’m even contemplating a second set, kinda wish they did a plate too! The bamboo wood also means its eco-friendly which is another big tick from me!!

If you love this post don’t forget to PIN IT!

*I was sent this set for review purposes but as always the review is 100% my honest opinion of the item*

My daughter has some plastic bowls and spoons, but I would prefer wooden ones… Especially bamboo! Thanks for bringing these to my attention!
