Nom nom nom! I literally love any body who is willing to deliver boxes of food and treats to my door! So when I get that little text to tell me my Degustabox is due to be delivered the next morning I get super excited! (Is that sad??) just know there will be something yummy in it and quite often something different that I may not have tasted or even heard of before.
If the whole Degustabox concept is new to you check out one of my other reviews or take a peek at their website – plus if you fancy testing it out yourself then my reader discount code can get you an awesome £6 off!! Use code ‘BLDEG15′.
So lets see what we got in our January box and what me and Jon thought of it all, plus at the end you’ll find my super tasty and super simple Banana Muffin Recipe using one of this month box items.
- Jordan’s Country Crisp Fruit and Nut – now obviously I knew of Jordan’s cereal but I think this might be a new version of their fruit and nut. Now I am not much of a cereal eater (Jon is a massive cereal eater on the other hand!) but I thought I would test this out and…well lets just say Jon didn’t actually get the chance to eat any of this as I ate it all over a few days! This is some seriously moorish cereal, and I loved that it was packed full of lots of different fruit and nuts (not just 1 of each like many cereals) It was full of flavour so went down a little too easily! I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for it in store.
- Yushoi Snapea Rice Sticks in Soy and Balsamic Vinegar – OMG!!! Yum!! If you saw my posts on instagram and twitter when this box arrived you will know that these were munched up between me and Jon one day whilst we were working in the office. Literally the whole bag in 1 session, ok I know that probably isn’t the best way to eat them but they were literally so yummy and (again) moorish, that we didn’t stop sibling at them, until and hour later we realised the whole bag was gone! Oops! I am now on the hunt for somewhere to buy them locally as I NEED MORE!! hehe! They are like a tastier, less stuck in your teeth, version of chip sticks.
- Fentimans Rose Lemonade – Again I know of Fentimans drinks and I was really hoping I would like this one as I hadn’t tasted it before…sadly I wasn’t much of a fan. I find rose water drinks are really hit and miss as to whether I like them as many are very strong. I could have drunk it but just wasn’t keen on it, but I will say I love their traditional cloudy lemonade and their Dandelion & Burdock! If your a rose water fan you will probably love this.
- Cold press Apple Juice – I hadn’t heard of this brand but I am a big apple juice drinker so this was opened as soon as it had had a chance to chill in the fridge. We both really liked it! It is a good sweet apple juice and really refreshing, safe to say the small bottle didn’t last long with both of us and I will definitely look to get some more of it.
- Clarks Carob Fruit Syrup – Ok I know of Clarks (we are big fans of their maple syrup!) And I’ve heard of Carob being batted around in healthy eating groups but I literally have no idea what it is or how it tastes! Well I decided to test it out on a little banana muffin recipe you’ll find below, hint: it was yummy!
- Finn Crips Original Crispbreads – I haven’t opened these yet but they look like they will be pretty similar to Ryvita thins. I’ll be doing a post on Ryvita toppings soon so keep an eye out for that if you like crispbreads.
- Conscious Chocolate – We got the Intense one, which as the name suggests is pretty intense chocolate flavour wise. It is a rich dark chocolate and was tasty. Jon isn’t a fan of dark chocolate so I got to eat this to myself (which is acceptable when pregnant right?)
- Amoy Taste of Asia Range – We haven’t had a chance to use either of these yet, but often use the Amoy Chinese range so am pretty sure they will be greta when we do get a chance, although I will need to mellow the spice factor a little in the both.
- Slim Noodles – Never heard of them and haven’t tried them out yet, but I plan to do a simple stir fry with them soon to see what they are like. They have zero carbs and only 9 calories per 100g serving so are supposed to be filling but really healthy to help if you are trying to lose weight.
- Fit Fit Bars – These are little round discs of dried fruit and nut, I have eaten both of ours and they are tasty! I suppose they are meant for clean eating, paleo diet or after work outs really but I had them as a snack in work. I wouldn’t rush out to buy them, but if you are trying to eat clean and still want something sweet these are a great alternative.
