It’s Degustabox time again!! yay!!!! Literally my favourite time of the month, I so look forward to the text telling me my box will be delivered the next day, and cannot wait to cut open the box when it arrives just to see what tasty treats are inside and what new stuff we get to try! hehe! Is that just a bit sad?
Anyway here is our review of the May Degustabox and at the bottom you will find a really simple Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe which is perfect for summer time BBQ’s and when you want a tasty meal with minimal effort (OK it takes 8 hours, but you only have to put it in at the start and shred it at the end! Simple!!)
- Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Barbecue Glaze – We have used this a number of times before as it is a big favourite in the Two Hearts household so the minute I saw this in the box I knew what I would cook with it, Slow Cooker Pulled Pork! See the BBQ Pulled Pork recipe at the bottom of this post!
- Garofola Pasta – Pasta is pasta as far as I’m concerned, and I love pasta! Pretty much any and every pasta is good by me, so I knew this would be used up pretty quickly. You’ll have seen a picture on my instagram this week already of half the bag of pasta being turned into a huge pasta salad with raw pepper, pineapple, sweetcorn, cheese, mayo and salad cream! Yummy!
- Cranes Cranberry Based Alcoholic Drink – Sadly I can’t drink this at the moment as I’m still pregnant (only 2 more weeks till D-Day!) but I’ll be trying it after bean arrives
- Kallo Belgian Chocolate Coated Corn Cakes and Yogurt Coated Rice Cakes – I already know I love these Rice Cakes and Corn Cakes so I have actually saved these for my (just-in-case) hospital bag/home birth snacks.
- Brioche Pasquier Croissants – These are yummy! Individually wrapped in pairs so the don’t go stale once you open the bag, so last a lot longer which is great. I popped a pair in the oven every morning for 4 days whilst Jon was away and had them with chocolate spread for my breakfast.
- Get Fruity Bar – I actually haven’t had the chance to try this one yet so it is sitting in my biscuit barrel for when I get hungry. Again I might keep it until D-Day as it looks like a great snack to help keep my energy up.
- Beloved Dates Date Nectar – I’m really intrigued by this as a baking ingredient so will be trying it out as an alternative to sugar or honey in something over the coming weeks.
- The Wonderful Company Almonds and Pistachios – These are great packs for keeping in my handbag to curb my pregnancy cravings. I have found nuts to be a great way to keep energy levels up, stop nausea and also fill hunger pangs which I get often but I don’t feel like eating meals or anything hot or heavy
- Pechkeks Misfortune Cookies – I love these! They are such a fun idea and were the first thing we opened when we got our Degustabox. The cookies are black and have ‘mis-fortunes’ in them. Mine said ‘Pay Rise?…No Chance!’ hehe!
- Pomegreat Juice – I am a big fan of Pomegranate Juice so was hoping I would like this brand and I did! It is just the right side of sweet and bursting with got pomegranate fruit flavour. Really yummy and a great thirst quencher if served over ice!
