We tend to create some of our best memories while holidaying. These are times when we experience amazing sights with the people we love most. It’s not surprising, then, that many of us wish to capture those memories for a long time to come. Having a dedicated album for each holiday is a wonderful reminder. It captures those precious moments and can even help to keep the trip alive. The only trouble is that taking your camera away can be a bit of a hassle.
Let’s face it; few cameras worth having are lightweight. Instead, they have chunky bodies and heavy lenses. As such, packing your camera in your checked luggage could see you losing loads of space. Not to mention that proper camera gear isn’t cheap. If your bag got lost, you would be out of pocket. For some, those risks are too much to justify. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t still capture your holiday the way you would like.
With phone cameras better than ever, it’s possible to snap until your heart’s content, all from that transportable device in your pocket. You merely need to take care of the following before going away.
Buy a phone with the best camera
We all want our travel pictures as crisp as possible. All the better for reliving those moments later. Even now, though, not every phone camera can achieve this. That’s why you should look out for the the best camera phones before you head off. The Google Pixel 3 currently comes top here, but new iPhones also worth your time. These are easy to travel with, yet they could both compete with the best DSLRs.
Get connected
Phones also offer something which many standard cameras can’t do. They can connect to your computer and cut out the annoying upload time when you get home. Instead, your pics will already be on your device. You would simply need to get set up with articles like this one about ‘How To Use iCloud Photo Library With Sync’ – Setapp and other sites like them have got you covered. You could even then grant iCloud access to family back home. That way, they could follow along with your journey if they wanted to.
Make plenty of room before you go
If you’re taking travel pics with a smartphone, you also need to make sure that you make plenty of room before you go. Unlike a camera, this device isn’t solely for taking pictures. It may be that your storage is all taken up from other things. Or, you might not have much memory in the first place. Either way, you need to take care of this before you get that dreaded ‘memory full’ notification during a photo opportunity. Be sure to delete unwanted files ahead of time. You may even find that it’s worth investing in a larger memory card. That way, you’ll be able to take as many pictures this way as you would with a far more cumbersome camera.
