Do you love fresh Pizza? Isn’t there just something about fresh pizza that makes it so much better than store bought ones? Well we love fresh pizza in this house, it’s one of the dishes that I know I will never have an issue with the kids eating! Granted the both like cheese and pineapple pizza so sometimes other toppings can be a bit of a stretch but luckily they are always game to at least trying them. This post is all about our Birtelli’s Pizza Review, so keep reading for more info on their authentic fresh pizza kits and what we thought of them
We enjoyed Birtelli’s Fresh Home Baked Pizza Kits at Christmas time when they brought out their Christmas special pizzas, which were amazing, so when they advertised their new Guest Pizzas we jumped at the chance to review them. Their guest pizzas are focused on Asparagus at the moment, with a meaty Asparagus and Coppa and a veggie Asparagus and Feta!
We were sent this pizza kit for review but all thought and opinions are my own
Birtelli’s Pizza Review
Turning Dough Balls in to Pizza Bases
Last time we had the pre rolled bases, you simple add the toppings to the hand crafted base and pop in the oven. So this time we decided to try the dough ball bases instead. You have to stretch the fresh dough by hand, shape into a base and then cook on the hob in a frying pan, before topping and popping in the oven to cook.
I had lots of fun needing and gently stretching the dough and then attempted the twirling on the hands motion you always see in movies!! That is genuinely in the instructions may I add! Jon took over the frying in the pan while I prepped the second base.
Adding the pizza toppings
Then it was time for Elian to take over and add all the toppings. He loves being able to do this, and it is a great chance to get him into the kitchen and learning about food. All of the toppings come ready prepped in individual pots and packages, so it’s super simple to pour them all on to a plate for little ones to help make the pizzas. And you can go a little easy on any ingredients you may not like.
The Asparagus and Coppa toppings were – Seasonal Herefordshire Asparagus with Wenlock Edge Farm Coppa (cured ham), crafted with spring onions and garden peas. And a generous topping of Mozzarella.
The Asparagus and Feta toppings were – Seasonal Herefordshire Asparagus with award winning handmade Somerset Feta, crafted with spring onions and garden peas. And more Mozzarella
Enjoying our Birtellis Fresh Pizza
It was all really simple and I would definitely order the fresh dough balls again. It was a family event making the pizzas and was great for a fun little activity and a tasty meal on a weekend. It takes less than 10 minutes to actually cook the pizzas so you can get a great quality fresh authentic Italian pizza in minutes! And due to all the toppings being prepped and ready to go, there is very little waste!
We all really enjoyed both these pizzas and would definitely order them again. Asparagus is a surprisingly fresh summer ingredient to have on a pizza which I really loved.
