Bump Watch – 18-19 Week Pregnancy Update

February 2, 2016March 3, 2016 Chantele 8 comments

Bump Watch - pregnancy updateSorry that this pregnancy update is a little late (we’re 21 weeks now!) but its been a super busy few weeks for us work wise, lots of gorgeous little newborns to photograph and wedding consultations to organise. But I am still feeling pretty healthy and good all round which is great. No interesting additions to the maternity outfits this week sorry, Ive pretty much lived in the same items with the change to a dark pair of Jojo Maman Bebe Jeans instead of the light blue! But I promise the next update will bring something new as I have ordered a few more pieces!18 weeks pregnantWeek 18 (11th January) I started to properly feel bean move, which is pretty cool. It still isn’t full blown kicks yet but lots of little bumps and wiggles throughout the day, mainly in the evening or when I am driving. But now that I know it’s bean I am feeling moving I am far more conscious of all the feelings in my tummy. We also had our 16 week midwife appointment just before week 18 started (it was all out of whack due to the festive season) so we got to hear beans heart beat, a steady and strong 141, although the midwife did have an issue finding it with the doppler as bean was tucked right into my left hip bone, which suddenly explains all the one sided pain I have been having since the start of this pregnancy! I have been suffering lots with sciatica just on the left side of my back and when I move in a certain way, or sit/lie in a certain way I get very painful shooting pains down my left butt check and left thigh. Plus it gets lots worse if I have been active that day or doing a newborn shoot as I spend so much time getting up and down on the floor or sitting on the floor moving around to position baby etc. But other than that the appointment went well and all looks good.

19 weeks pregnantWeek 19 (18th January) as you can see the bump seems to have popped quite a bit more at the top this week, I’m definitely looking more round although I still haven’t actually gained much weight as my appetite is still rubbish and Im not managing full meals most of the time. Nothing much to report overall from this week really. We had a relaxing week overall, my health is steady, still have the sciatica issue but I am just coping with that at the moment.

Beans 20 week scan has just been so have lots more to report in our next pregnancy update! Plus we found out the gender, so I can reveal that and I can finally start planning the nursery!

Congratulations! I’m a couple of weeks ahead of you and it’s nice to read updates from someone at around the same point in their pregnancy. Sciatica sounds awful, I hope you don’t suffer too much as the weeks go on. Can’t wait to find out what you’re having! x

Thanks Alana, The sciatica is coming and going at the moment, today I have developed pretty bad shoulder pain on my left side, which isn’t nice, but hey ho! I love being pregnant though so its all part and parcel I suppose. Will check out your blog now!

You’re looking amazing Chantele, I’m so glad you’re doing well, sciatica aside.
