Today is day 6 of Blogtober and I am super chuffed with myself for managing to get a post up every day so far! I am linking up with Hex Mum Blogs #blogtober17 prompts and todays is FLOWERS. So go check out all the other awesome bloggers taking part over on her linky.
It used to be that people would buy flowers to decorate their homes, my mum would always pick up a bunch when doing her weekly food shop, and in my student days if I found a discounted bunch that still looked to have lots of life in it I would be super chuffed to be able to add a nice floral detail to our home for a few days. Or of course you bought people flowers for a special occasion or a nice house plant. We have bought all the mums orchids at one time or another and I have 3 dotted around our home still. But thanks to Instagram (#succulentaddict / #succulentfreak / #succulentlove ) I have been seeing more and more succulents adoring windowsills, bedside tables, coffee tables and desks and I might have fallen a little bit in love! Yes it probably is a fad and it is very hipster, but I love them, and I love the lack of upkeep they require. They are my type of plant.
So I have added a cute little trio of succulents to our bathroom windowsill, which you might have seen on our instagram recently. I actually managed to pick these up in Tesco of all places, and I’ve managed to keep them alive and growing for over a month now, which is great!
Now I know how easy they are to keep and how cute they looking I’m wanting to add a few more to other areas of the house. Im loving so many of the sweet succulent planters and display holders on etsy at the moment so I thought I would share a few here.
Copper Concrete Planters / Glass Planter / Superhero Planter / Bulbasaur Planter / Skull Planter / Dinosaur Planter / Geometric Planter / Paper Bag Planter
If this has given you lots of inspiration to fill your house with beautiful succulent planters, please remember to PIN THIS POST!!
I love succulents, I have quite a few… Word to the wise though, they don’t like kitchen bleach spray. One got in the way of my cleaning and didn’t live to tell the take unfortunately hahaha
Oh no!! Thats sad. I don’t have any in the kitchen yet, have two fly traps but I’m not loving them really so think they will be replaced with succulents soon. I am growing 2 of shoots from one of my bathroom ones in an egg cup at the moment so hoping I can replant them soon and have them in kitchen
I love succulents too – I’ve got two big ones in the kitchen but those teeny ones are so cute! #Blogtober
I’m about to put some in my kitchen too. At the moment I have 2 fly traps but I am really not loving them like I thought I would, so am thinking they might be replaced by succulents soon
I’m loving succulents at the moment too! Like you say, they are very low maintenance which is a must for me!
