Finding the Positives in Lockdown
One of the things we are really enjoying during this lockdown is getting out walking a lot more. Our daily walks have turned into daily Pokemon Hunts, which you can read about on last weeks Ordinary Moments Post. But we are trying to take the time every day to go out for a walk with Elian, either all 3 of us or just 1 of us with him if the other is busy or not feeling like it. It has helped bring a bit of calm to the day and often acts as a distraction for us from everything else that is going on at the moment.
Being stuck in the house 24/7 with a 3 year old is difficult, so so difficult! There are tantrums, constant requests for food and never a moments peace as Elian seems physically incapable to just be quiet…ever! So the little break outside the house going for a walk has helped bring some calm and normality to most days and it isn’t something we did a lot of before all this. We went out occasionally to the park, or during the summer we would walk to the waterfalls or my parents house, but it wasn’t something we did often. So we are seeing these little daily outings as a positive we can take from all this lockdown chaos.
What Elian is wearing:
- Binoculars Leggings and Matching Top: The Monochrome Mum
- Bunny Ear Jacket in Nightlights Print: The Monochrome Mum
- Batman Pumps: Tesco
We are brand reps for the lovely Monochrome Mum shop, so we do get a slight discount on our purchases but we are honestly big fans of the brand and were buying from her store before we were asked to join her rep team. But if you like the look of her items you can use code TWOHEARTS10 to receive a discount. I promise you won’t be disappointed, and right now I think it is more important than ever to be supporting the small shops and the independent trades and creatives who’s businesses really are struggling during this time.
Why Shop The Monochrome Mum
Where do I start….
- All items are handmade by the wonderful Jenny, from cutting and sewing to all the packing and posting, she is a one woman machine!
- Supporting small businesses and creatives is important under normal circumstances, so it is even more important during the current lockdown
- Her fabrics are all so unique and beautiful. Sometimes I dress Elian bright and colourful but I still love him in greys and monochrome fabrics sometimes too! They always look so chic!
- The quality on her products is amazing! She takes such care in every garment she makes and it really shows in its durability. We have items that Elian has worn dozens of times, and as long as you wash and care for them properly they last so well and can either be handed down to younger siblings or sold on if you wish.
- The Monochrome Mum has a lovely little community of fans on her FB members page where she releases exclusives, discounts, competitions and you can sell and purchase pre loved items!
