Eek I totally missed the end of Feb as we had a crazy busy work week, and I’ve been chasing my tail to catch up with life ever since! February turned out to be even busier than January was with newborns in the studio and Jon shooting weddings. I can tell it was super busy as I didn’t even manage to organise a Siblings Portrait for February, which annoys me but hey ho not much I can do about it.
This months highlights, review and Goals isnt going to be that big a post, because it was so busy with work, but here we go!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
The main thing that happened in February was probably half term, but we didn’t actually get to make the most of Elian being off school sadly as we were working for the majority of it. So they got to spend lost of time with their grandparents! Here’s what else we got up to doing the month though
- Day on the beach front for Elian to practice his wiggle scooter he had for xmas. Then a lovely lunch out and ice cream on the way home
- I took Elian to Cardiff for a day trip to try proper sushi and visit Cardiff Museum. This was so he could scratch 2 more things off his 100 Kids Activities Poster
- The kids and I went to the cinema to see Sing 2. It was Effie’s first proper trip as the last time she was just a little baby and slept the whole time!
- Elian got to join us in Moo Music which he loved. We did it for 18 months before he started school, so it was fun to have him back there. Effie loved having big bro to dance and jump with!
- We had a family dinner out for our nephew, Theo’s 3rd birthday … my fav picture of Effie this month is her eating that nugget which is why I had to share it, so much sass
WHAT WE’VE BEEN LOVING
Ive been well and truly sucked into the world of Wordle! It’s become a bit of a daily tradition between Jon, my mum and myself. We do it every day and message each other how many attempts it took…I have yet to miss or fill to get a single one since we started it.
I also finally found some new sofa cushions that I actually liked (or Jon actually liked as he is the fussy one to be honest! haha!) The are from the range and look lush on our new dark navy sofa – I got 2 of this one and 2 of this one!
Elian was also lucky enough to receive a full set of these brilliant wooden Fab Brix animal figures from Just 4 Kids. They are in conjunction with the WWF charity to help raise funds for much needed conservation research into endangered species. We’ve made the koala so far, you can se our little reel of it here, but he wants to make another this weekend. Expect a full review of them soon!
Effie has also been loving playing the sensory stuff this month. I have been setting up our flisat table with different fun items she can play and explore with and it has been a huge hit. She is a big fan of pouring and scooping rice and other bases I have been using. This set up was a dino themed one! Find my super easy method to dye rice for sensory play here
WHAT I’VE BEEN READING AND WATCHING
Reading – I was a bit slower on the reading front this month than I was in January. But I still managed to finish 2 and start another. Again these have all been kindle books which I read whilst feeding Effie, so Ive still not picked up an actual book from my ever growing pile!
Don’t You Forget About Me by Mhairi McFarlane – What a lovely book this was. I hadn’t heard of Mhairi McFarlane before, but I spotted a friend had reviewed this on Goodreads and it sounded like a great book. It was a really easy read, I really warmed to the main character (although she still irritated me in places, haha!) and I enjoyed the overall story. Quick summer chick lit if your looking for a holiday read
Bunny by Mona Awad – Umm…yeah so 2 weeks on I am still a little perplexed as to what the hell I have read, haha! The only way I can describe it is as a mixture between The Craft, Clueless and American Psycho! Really weird storyline, mythical witch type goings on, senseless murders, irritating strange characters, all set in a preppy arty college campus. one whole section is written in a strange collective thought manner too that is very weird…so yeah! Unless you like off the wall I would probably steer clear. Im not even sure I fully understood the ending even now, lol!

FEBRUARY GOALS REVIEW
Honestly had a bit of a crap month on the monthly goals front to be honest. Weve been really busy with the business, lots of newborns in the studio, weddings for Jon and throw in half term, so it’s just been a case of surviving this month rather than aiming for goals and being overly productive.
- Meal plan and stick to my budget – I managed this for most of the month luckily. And was pretty bang on my budget (minus a meal out and a takeaway Jon covered)
- Sort and Organise the kids toys – Ummm…yeah I didnt get far with this again, 1 or 2 boxes got done and the xmas stuff found homes so thats a plus!
- Start Decluttering – Lets not go there! I sorted a few bits in our bedroom and some left over xmas/gift stuff into the attic
- Dedicate some time to reading everyday – Ive been really good and done this every day, usually while boobing Effie down for her nap
- Fill in my one line a day journal every day – Yeah this kinda took a back seat and I only managed a few days, but il will play catch up soon
- Keep up to date with my Project 365 challenge on my other insta account – same with this! I managed the first 2 weeks then got super busy and its stopped, but I will catch up when I get a chance
- List a box of kids clothes on Vinted – I didn’t get much on Vinted, but I did list a load on FB and my insta. Sold a few bundles but really need to do more!
- Earn £200 from side hustles/selling to put towards debt – This month was really slow for blogging work so I didnt make as much as usually so I didn’t have the extra to put off debts sadly
Monthly goals and aims FOR MARCH
March is looking equally busy already! Lots more little newborns in my studio so I am keeping it simple this month so as not to overdo it. Here are my monthly goals I am hoping to work on
- Meal plan and stick to budget
- List at least 10 new items on Vinted
- Keep reading everyday
- Try to refocus on Slimming World and lose a few more lbs
- Do more sensory play set ups with Effie
- Get outside more!!
- Earn £200 from side hustles to go towards debt – This might be a stretch this month as March is always a bit slow due to end of tax year for most companies and budgets being spent
