I swear little man already has a wardrobe as big as mine, and he’s not even here yet! But he is going to grow so quickly in his first few months that I know he will need clothes in a range of sizes, from newborn up to 12 months. And of course babies have a tendency to get their clothes dirty quite quickly too so need numerous changes in just 1 day…all this equates to rather large quantities of clothing and baby grows, much of which we have been given by friends and family (lots during my Baby Shower).
So when it comes to dressing the little man (when he finally arrives) keeping track of which items are for which size will make it a whole lot easier and hopefully save me some time when I am in a rush. I had thought to just store all his clothes in separate drawers, but although this works fine for his baby grows and sleep suits, it doesn’t work so well for proper little outfits and clothing. Thats where these adorable baby closet dividers comes in handy (you can find them here). We were sent these ones by designer and illustrated Haily Meyers by online store Uncommon Goods to help us get beans room all ready before his arrival.
I adore the cute animal illustrations in bold bright colours as they will be easy to see in his wardrobe and they are just really sweet! Haily Meyers has also created a super cute baby book that I fancy too, which you can read all about on the Uncommon Goods Blog. Plus there are loads of other items in their baby department that I would love in beans room (you’ll see a very cute fox based item popping up in his nursery tour once we have finished it).
Now for your chance to win yourself a set of these adorable closet dividers. Open internationally, the giveaway will run for 1 week and the winner will be chosen at random next Monday. It’s easy to enter just fill in the form below, you must be a follower (either via Bloglovin or email) and let me know your top parenting tip, plus there are lots of bonus entries. Simple! Good Luck!
Your life for the next two years will feel similar to a constant hangover. Don’t worry, go with it, even try to enjoy it – it will get better. Respond to your baby’s needs when required and give them all the love you can manage through your constant hangover. Social life? Forget it!!
Take all the help offered! I was always declining family help as I thought it would make me look like I wasn’t coping. How I wish my mum would come over to Hoover like she offered!
dont feel guilty about sleeping in the day. sleep when you can!
Just go with your gut instinct…you know what is best for your baby x
try to enjoy every moment as you wont get this time back
Take all the help you need and if you start to feel low then don’t be afraid to speak to someone about it. Having a baby is a huge life changing event. Be careful not to fall into the trap of competing with new parents either. You baby will reach the milestones in their own time. Every child is different.
Take things as they come and try not to stress too much.
Routine helps baby adjust and keeps you ahead.
Do what you think is right as you know best as its your child.
you can never have too many baby wipes!!
I agree with don’t feel guilty about sleeping when you can. Tiredness is the biggest hurdle with parenting because everything is a breeze when you’re not tired and you can quickly become an emotional wreck when you’re tired. So sleep when you can and take any offers of help with your housework.
Rest when baby rests! Try not to overdo it the first few weeks.
Accept help (and meals!) when they are offered.
Accept all help when it is offered, even if you have to manage how that help is given.
Organize before baby comes so you’re ready and can enjoy every moment with baby.
Take a nap whenever possible!
Prepare a few freezer meals before baby comes. It will be nice the first week not to worry about cooking.
Never compare yourself to other parents and to not put extra pressure on yourself. And that it’s perfectly okay to ask for help.
Take all the help you can and don’t be afraid to ask for more!
Enjoy every minute and don’t let anyone make you feel guilty!
You can never ever have enough wet wipes.
Trust yourselves. There will be days when you probably want to scream and shout and cry through sheer exhaustion but it’s only temporary and you get past it real quick. You’re a team, always remember that. Congratulations!
