The Hawaiian Islands are the perfect place to get away from it all and relax. Each one is special in its own way and everybody has a different opinion about which is best but everybody that visits Kauai seems to have a soft spot for the place. There’s something different about this particular island that sets it apart from places like Maui or Paia. These are just some of the reasons that you should add this amazing island to your bucket list.
Luxury Accommodation
There are some incredible places to stay in Kauai if you’re looking for a luxury experience. The Marriott’s Kaua’i Beach Club is the best place to stay if you want great high end accommodation without spending too much money. They offer some great villas with sea views and beautiful gardens and you’re well situated so you’re close to all of the great attractions on the island.
Watersports
A lot of the Hawaiian islands are famous for their watersports but Kauai is by far the best. There are some amazing surfing locations along the coast and the island hosts lots of great competitions for you to watch or even take part in if you’re a seasoned surfer. You can also try your hand at paddleboarding in one of the coves or take a boat out on the water.
Amazing Food
If finding good food is one of the benefits of travel for you, you won’t be disappointed when you’re in Kauai. There is such a huge range of amazing places to eat all the way from high end restaurants all the way down to local food trucks. There is a huge range of different cuisines on offer so you’ll always find something that you love.
Untouched Wildlife
When you see wildlife in a lot of countries, it isn’t exactly wild. Even though it’s still a great experience to see those incredible animals in a wildlife reserve, nothing quite compares to seeing them in their natural habitat for real. If you take a boat trip around the Na Pali coast you can see dolphins in the ocean. You can also go snorkelling around the coast where you’ll find an incredible coral reef system inhabited by all sorts of amazing tropical fish and even some sea turtles if you’re lucky. This island hasn’t been attracting tourist for too long so the wildlife remains largely untouched and the habitats are all still intact. If you’re a wildlife lover then you absolutely have to visit Kauai.
Great Hiking Trails
If you love hiking then you’ll be in your element in Kauai because it has some of the best locations in the world for it. There’s a great trail along the cliffs on the Na Pali coast where you’ll get some spectacular views of the island and the coastline. The Waimea Canyon is another popular hiking destination on the island where there are some great trails through thick jungle and picturesque waterfalls.
One of the things that make Kauai so great is the fact that it hasn’t been inundated with tourists so the wildlife and landscape haven’t been tampered with too much but that won’t last forever so get out there and see it while you can.
