Christmas Treats from M&S

December 3, 2014February 25, 2021 Chantele 1 comment

christmas treatsChristmas is almost here, and as well as the family time and obvious gift giving, its also the time to just allow yourself to indulge a little, in the food department! And for my family that usually means some tasty treats from M&S (and some home made ones!). This year they have some great items on offer, from speciality Bucks Fizz to decadent mince pies and delicious chocolates.

When M&S offered to send me a special little hamper of treats to try before the festive season gets in full swing of course I jumper at the chance. The full selection of christmas treats looks amazing and we were lucky to receive a great little section – Clementine, Cranberry & Pomegranate Bucks Fizz, Mini Mince Pie Selection, Mince Pie Biscuits, Clementine chocolate balls, Decorate your own Gingerbread Men Kit, a jar of Rum Soaked Raisins and some amazing Caramel Belgian Chocolate.

Jon wanted to tuck in as soon as we opened the box but I thought I should really get a quick snap of everything before we started munching on it. But as soon as I had taken a few pictures we dived right in, starting with the mini mince pies selection and the mince pie biscuits. Now I didn’t actually like the taste of mince pies until last year (at the age of 26!), since then I have eaten a fair few, but can honestly say these mini ones are some of the best I have ever tasted. My favourite were the open topped ones (although I took the candied clementine rind off as I wasn’t keen on that bit) as they were packed with sweet cranberries, although Jon liked the traditional one best (the last one was a walnut mix, which was also really yummy!!) The biscuits were really yummy too and we ended up eating the whole pack rather sharpish, they were sweet but perfectly spiced too.

christmas treatsThe chocolate bar and chocolate balls both gotten eaten the next day and were very delicious too, the caramel Belgian chocolate was especially good (although very rich so I couldn’t eat much in one go). I’m not a big fan of orange flavoured chocolate, but even I ate some of the clementine chocolate balls, they were artificially orange flavoured and had a much more subtle taste to them.

The Bucks Fizz is coming away with me for my girly weekend on Saturday so I shall let you know about that next week. The gingerbread men are going to my nephew and I’m hoping to use the rum raisins in a christmas gift I shall be cooking.

Thanks M&S for all the yumminess!
