I hate shaving, there, thats a great way to start a shaving review! Ive always been a stubble man, with the occasional wet shave when I need to look presentable for a wedding, or someones birthday meal out. One reason why I dislike wet shaving is the irritation I get from it, but also the cost. I honestly cant remember buying a pack or razor blades its been that long. Ive been known to use Chantele lady shave blades because they conveniently fit on my Gillette razor handle and were a lot cheaper to buy at the time. I know, I’m a tight ass, I like to enjoy what I spend my money on. When it comes to the Supermarket and I’m thinking “razor blades or….dvd, razor bl-, DVD!” Its not that I cant afford it, I just purely resent paying for them when the next day I’ve got a face full of stubble anyway.
Then, theres Shave Kit. Shave Kit offer a subscription service, like Netflix. Each month you get sent a fresh new pack of blades. Theres no need to stand in the supermarket and gasp/complain about the price of them, they are just there waiting for you. And best of all its not stupidly priced either. A 4 pack of my usual blades is about £10/£11 whereas the 4 blade monthly subscription is £8.95 for a 4 pack of the 5 blade version, and £6.95 for a pack of 4 ofthe 3 blade version.
Using the razor was a pleasure, theres a good grip and the blade moves well around the face. Most importantly however, I would say that the blades are sharper than the competition. I have very sensitive skin around my lower neck and often get a rash after shaving. With the Shave Kit blades, it wasn’t completely gone, but was definitely better than what I am used to. So for a shaver thats both cheaper and better than the “leading brand”, it’s a no brainer if you wet shave regularly.
