As 2020 was a bust for any fundraising events we had been hoping to take part in, a group of parents, friends and family, and NHS staff from the Swansea Bay Baby Loss Support Group have teamed up to undertake a 300,000 step challenge during the month of March. We are hoping to raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, whilst also raising some much needed funds to help support the local baby loss community with items such as books and memory making supplies, and help update the clinical areas used by bereaved parents in our local hospitals.
You all know this is a cause very close to mine and Jons heart after we lost our Ebben in June 2019, and it is a honour to be able to come together as a group now and do something positive for other parents that find themselves in this position. Even when we cant be together in person we are banding together to do something bigger than all of us.
So if you’re able to donate anything to our cause it would be greatly appreciated, and you can donate on our Go Fund Me Page. We have a target of £1000 between us, but we are hoping to be able to smash that by the end of March and we are already very close!!
My firsts week went really well and I managed to clock up over 77,000 steps, so I was ahead of my target. Week 2 has been a bit of a slower start thanks to the truly awful weather we have been having in Wales, but I am still motivated and positive I can get back on track with my figures and hit my end of week target again! You can follow all my progress over on my instagram stories or check out the #SBBL300kStepChallenge hashtag on fb or insta for some of the other lovely people taking part in the challenge.
