Travel and experiencing other cultures is something me and Jon love doing and really hope that we can share this with our kids in the future. We haven’t had the chance to visit many places yet, as neither of us travelled a lot as children ourselves. But we first took the leap with our honeymoon and spent a month travelling around China and it started a little travel bug within both of us.

Since then we have visited Copenhagen,Venice, San Fransisco, Paris and lots of places in the UK. Not many places compared to others but we are happy we have gotten to explore these places as a couple and hope to add many more to our list over the next few years.
One of the places lots of people say we should explore is Indian, and if we are honest it has never been on our bucket list before. But after doing little research on the rich and diverse culture I can see why it appeals to so many people. Obviously now we have to consider visiting places with little people in tow so I am always on the hunt for tips, tricks and guides on visiting places with kids.
So here are some tips from some of my follow bloggers who have already been lucky enough to explore Indian with their children.
Helena from Baby Foote says “My tip would be to go to india but don’t be afraid of the difference between the West and India. It is different but how wonderful for kids to experience that”. Her blog has a number of awesome guides on travelling Indian with kids, she highly recommends you visit Varanasi
Nicole from Tales from Mamaville has a few tips. First “The street food is delicious, but be careful of foods/drinks containing water/ milk/ raw veggies. If you’re not used to it, could get a tummy upset. Always drink boiled/ bottled water and wash fruits/ vegetables well.” Secondly some tips on where to visit and stay “Stay in a houseboat for a night for a different experience and visit the tea plantations in Kerala too.”
Jenny from TraveLynn Family is lucky enough to have lived in India for a year so her blog is burning with helpful info. Her tip is “I always suggest to people to have some beach time planned in Goa to balance out the chaos of travel between the main cities and sites”
Amanda from That Travelling Family suggests visiting Jaipur and has written this great blog post about their 2 week itinerary whilst there.
Katja from Globe Totting lived in India for 3 years with her kids so has a lot of experience and wisdom to impart with those wishing to travel there. She has written her Ultimate Guide to Travelling Indian with Kids which is an amazing resource for anyone planning a trip there with their little ones.
Obviously when visiting Indian there are also other things to consider, such as health insurance and visa applications. If your planning a trip check out the Safetrip India Visa and Insurance Guide for up to date information.
