Dressing an active 3 year old boy…
So dressing 3 year olds in general can be a bit of a challenge especially if they are super active and adventure loving like my big dude! They need something thats easy to move in, easy to climb in. Something comfortable for play, but equally something cute and stylish if your a mum like me! And that is why I am a huge fan of rompers and all in ones (yes bathroom trips are a bit of a pain, but honestly Elian can get them on and off on his own now and its worth the extra few minutes in the toilet to have him in a simple 1 piece outfit!)
This rolled hem, pocket romper is one of Jades newest designs, and I knew the minute she sent her reps the pattern that it was totally something I would dress Elian in so I snapped one up as part of her trial run. She had also just ordered this awesome soft Space Etchings fabric which I knew Elian would love (were big into rockets and space at the moment!) so it seemed perfect together. And honestly it is one of my favourite handmade clothing items I own for Elian, and he loves it just as much…’It’s got pockets mama’!…don’t we all love a pocket! haha!
I always find buying clothing with a darker background colour is a safe bet with kids as its less likely to show up little marks and spills should they get them throughout the day. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still have bright colours and patterns on the darker background. We now own all manner of bright and bold prints from What Jade Made and other handmade clothing makers. Our favourites are anything with rainbows, robots, space and dinosaurs!
